Awful assembly processKathyExtremely disappointed in IKEA.
I had no idea that you can't send back a return if you order online. The website tells you to visit an IKEA store! Well if it was that convenient, I wouldn't have ordered online! I'm not driving over an hour to return a $20 item. Timelines for delivery are inaccurate and ever changing with FedEx -Nothing arrived when my original order said it would arrive.
One of the items I bought was the NISSAFORS Utility cart. Hands down the worst assembly process ever. I've been putting together furniture and Ikea furniture for 30 years. This was so bad.
The tiny plastic parts that hold the sides to the bottom of each tray are impossible to get in on the first try. I don't have big fingers but they are so small that you cannot accurately hold them and put them in the right spot until the 3rd or 4th try. Who are these designers and engineers that thought this was a good idea?
I might be done with Ikea – it's just getting worse and worse.3
Adorable little cart, easy to assemble*GraceAnytime I see a piece of IKEA furniture I want has a lot of 1 star reviews relating specifically to the assembly process, I take it as a personal challenge. That’s how I ended up with three Baggebo shelves (which I love), and this cute little cart. And honestly, every time the set up is quick and smooth. This little cart was no exception. Maybe because I was expecting a challenge and mentally prepared for frustration, but honestly it was one of the quickest assemblies I’ve had. There are a lot of complaints about the little green plastic (or I guess not green depending on what color cart you get) clips but I found them clever and quite easy to insert. I added an * because an important caveat is that I have very small hands, and I could see how this cart might be a bit frustrating for someone with larger hands. The clips are quite small, and I did fumble a couple times, but nothing awful. Overall, LOVE the color, it’s a handy little cart, and I could see myself buying more!5
sooooo disappointed.PatriciaI have never been disappointed with any IKEA purchase untill I bought the NISSAFORS utility cart. I bought one in white and one in black. I don't understand how anyone could say assembly was easy. The little white plastic things are totally useless. The minute you move the cart pieces the white plastic pieces come apart. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!! i live very far from IKEA. I had to open the package and take out all the pieces to know how awful the product was. Now what??? It's not even worth donating it.1
couldn't even put it togetherJoannawe have lots of experience putting IKEA stuff together. This one defeated us. Holes didn't lineup couldn't connect things basically a waste of money.1
Assembly took hours CarolThe plastic clips that hold the bottom and sides of each shelf together are definitely a weakness. The small screws that must be aligned through 2 metal pieces and then the holes on the uprights are a nightmare to insert. Also these screws are the only support for each shelf - thus the fifteen lb weight limit. This cart is flimsy and would never survive a move even by professional movers.2
Very useful designSueThis cart gives ample room for a host of tall, short, wide, narrow items to be stored and easily accessible. It rolls well and fits in next to shelves, cabinets and corners well.5
The screws on this thing makes me wanna screamAmberI usually don’t complain about my furniture from IKEA, I literally live right next-door and my home is pretty much furnished by IKEA almost exclusively. But this heart assembling it has been a nightmare. It’s literally taking two hours to put these screws in because this thing is designed in a way where it is so painful to put it together. if I knew it was going to be this difficult to put the screws in. I never would’ve purchased it. I would’ve just got three Raskogs. 2
AssemblyErikaIts relatively easy to assemble and works great
Sleek look. Luckily they always give generous amount of screws and bolts in case one gets lost or damaged5
Assembly parts don’t fitElizabethThe screws that came with this are too small for where they’re supposed to be used, so this falls apart.1
ReconsiderAnonymous reviewerThe plastic "hardware" and the screws to join sections are the worst part of this great looking design. Required enormous pressure to fasten the plastic pieces. Be sure to budget extra time for the bolt/screws, as the key tool and confined space each screw is tucked into makes for a really tight fit and a slow build.2
Better than expected AnnittaVery nice and easy to assemble 5
Nice storageRhamineSturdy and lightweight. Use it in my office and it doesn’t take up much space.5
Love this cart! (beige)Jacindaeasy to put together, solid and cute!5
Better than expectedKevinThis roller shelf worked better than expected. Helped declutter my utility closet.5
CartLucyVery nice color, good for extra organized5
Great for small space organizing.CarmelitaI love this cart! Sturdy and convenient.5
MultifunctionalVenitraExcellent for everything. This cart does triple duty in a bedroom and is high enough to support my plant(s) when needed.5
Small but thoughtfully madeAndrewThis cart is made from 1 millimeter thick steel shelves, tiny tough screws (and tiny loose plastic screws that hold things together during assembly). I could probably break it with one hard punch but of course I won’t be doing that. Sturdy enough for its role and not extra.5
Love it!MaryLove these carts. I use them for crafts. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is because of the wheels. They work but I wish they were more heavy duty.4
Cart, perfectedJaredWheels glide easily, lightweight yet sturdy, versatile neutral color, best price point for a cart of this size.5
