Removal Services

How it works:

Get your old furniture removed! It’s an easy way to make space for your new purchase and one less thing on your to-do list.  If you have old IKEA furniture in good condition and can get it to a store yourself, IKEA Family members could earn IKEA credit through our Buy back & resell program. 

Removal services are available when you shop at your local IKEA store:

Buy a mattress, sofa, or appliance in-store, and   schedule the delivery and removal service. When you get home, prepare your old items to be removed.

Mattress removal

Mattress removal is available in-store for $25 with the purchase of mattress, futon, or box spring with in-home delivery service only. Unless otherwise specified (see CA, CT, OR, and RI below*) this service is currently not available with purchases made online.*Residents of California, Connecticut, Oregon, and Rhode Island IKEA follows all state laws with respect to mattress removal – including certain states (CA, CT, OR, or RI) where removal is free of charge with the purchase of a delivery. In California, Connecticut, Oregon, and Rhode Island, mattress retailers are required by law to offer to take back a used mattresses at no additional charge when delivering a new one. This applies to new mattress purchases both in-store and online with the purchase of a delivery service only. Please note there are certain exceptions and circumstances under applicable laws where a mattress will not be taken back ie. a mattress is contaminated and poses a risk to personnel, new products, or equipment. If you live in CA, CT, OR, or RI, the Mattress Removal service is only available within 30 days of receiving your new mattress. You can contact us here or start the conversation with the chatbot. Sofa removal

Sofa removal is available in-store starting at $25 when you purchase a sofa or similar product (sectional, loveseat, futon) with in-home delivery in select markets. This service is currently not available with purchases made online.

Appliance removal is available in-store starting at $25 when you purchase a similar product with in-home delivery in select markets. This service is currently not available with purchases made online.
