Great bed if you can put it togetherErinLet me say I am someone who has put together my fare share of Ikea products in the past without any trouble. My boyfriend and I struggled for two days to get past step 5 of the assembly process for this bed. We gave up and scheduled a task rabbit helper for about half the price of the bed on the third day. The helper never showed up. We continued sleeping on the couch another night. Finally a friend who is a trained mechanic came over and spent about five hours getting the bed part set up for us. I’m gonna work on the shelves at a later time when I’m less exhausted and can get a few good nights sleep. Don’t think I will ever get this bed again despite loving it now it is constructed, because it’s not worth the headache to get there.
Love!JaudaI actually love the bed for its quality, sturdiness, and storage. The directions were clear, a little confusing at times because it has pictures only. It’s best to look them over in full to make sure you do all steps in proper order. Once I got it all together, all by myself, it took me quite some time, but I accomplished it. And I love it! One of my best purchases.

The reason I gave it a 4 star is because the details of purchasing were NOT CLEARLY EXPLAINED. The slates SHOULD COME WITH THE bed. You shouldn’t have to assemble it and find out you were “Supposed to order it separately to add to the order!” You Definitely need the slates unless you’re using a box spring!! Sure wish that was explained CLEARLY AND CORRECTLY in the description!
PLEASE do not purchaseQqqqI have assembled plenty of IKEA furniture in the past, and I have never had a more excruciating experience with what I assumed would be a simple assembly. Step 6 is horrible. It's as if no one tested the instructions nor assembly. It's near impossible with the materials you are given coupled with occasionally unclear instructions. Some of the pieces feel like were included accidentally, like in Step 32 where you have to fight the metal bars to fit a screw into a just barely too narrow hole, then you have to do it again except upside down. Other low rating reviews speak to my same experience. The slats fell through the bed while I was putting on fresh sheets, and every time I try to move the bed I'm worried it will pull apart from itself. This bed is far from structurally sound. If you have any self respect, do not buy this bed. It is not worth the cheaper price.
Mostly Great EngineeringDanielOverall pleased with the bed, especially for “flat-box furniture”, it has ample storage and was relatively easy to assemble, though the instruction manual could be better. Instead of leaving people to wonder with unclear tiny pics, please try to use some actual words in the assembly process. My only gripe with the bed was when it came to the storage drawers, they seem a little under engineered as compared to the frame itself. They utilize a lot of plastic fasteners and anchors unlike the frame itself. It seems like they’re is opportunity to make the drawers much more sturdy.

The bed frame is attractive, the drawers are large, its built well and fantastic for saving space.JillMake sure you set three to four hours to put this together. Having a hand held screw driver saves time. This product is built well and provides fantastic space for storage. It is also a good height and is visually appealing. I would highly recommend this product.

Not a sturdy frameGloricelaThis bed was a pain to put together. But to make it worse my daughter has had this bed for under 3 yrs & the frame broke already just above one of the drawers. She's been away for college the last yr so its had maybe 2 yrs of wear. Would not recommend.

Great bed.SallyThis is my second Brimnes bed. I love the storage! The instructions are lacking in clarity in some areas. It would be helpful if the rails were labeled (CR, CL). The drawers in the end, did not fit. I have some rail readjustments to do. Frustrating, but will be nice when it’s done!
Not telling you about the support beam is cruelZachariahImagine my surprise after 3 hours of putting this together, to find out that not only do I not have the support beam, they didn't tell me about it at all. Be sure to order the support beam or you will be without a bed.
One missing itemAprilWe noticed there was a piece missing after we put it together. It's one of the handles to the drawers. And another handle snapped after we screwed it in. That one was on us but it would be nice to be able to get the missing handle and possibly replace the other that snapped. Everything else was great. Love the bed over all.
So glad I'm a patient personJeffStruggled to get everything into my SUV but got plenty of help at the store.
There are 3 boxes of parts. There are 3 bags of 'goodies' for assembly, marked 1, 2, and 3. Each bag went with the box with the same #. Some of the pieces had writing on them to indicate a part number, most did not.
The Instruction booklet shows 48 steps. There are no written instructions, just diagrams. There are arrows indicating a that part needs flipped or turned, but it's unclear in which direction. When building the X that you start with, I found that putting a piece of the packing material under the center made this piece stay where it needed to be. The drawers were the hardest thing to put together. Building this by myself made it hard to hold everything in place until everything could be secured. I originally left the wood slats out so we could use our box springs. It was too high so put the slats in. Don't snip the strap holding these together until in place. 6+ hours assembly (solo)
Like & HateJosvardoI like the product, the building part with the type of instructions that comes with it absolutely not. Do not recommend building alone if you can’t figure out what to do by the pictures/how it supposed to look. Instruction didn’t have separate baggies with it labeled per items to at least help during building it.
