So glad I'm a patient personJeffStruggled to get everything into my SUV but got plenty of help at the store.
There are 3 boxes of parts. There are 3 bags of 'goodies' for assembly, marked 1, 2, and 3. Each bag went with the box with the same #. Some of the pieces had writing on them to indicate a part number, most did not.
The Instruction booklet shows 48 steps. There are no written instructions, just diagrams. There are arrows indicating a that part needs flipped or turned, but it's unclear in which direction. When building the X that you start with, I found that putting a piece of the packing material under the center made this piece stay where it needed to be. The drawers were the hardest thing to put together. Building this by myself made it hard to hold everything in place until everything could be secured. I originally left the wood slats out so we could use our box springs. It was too high so put the slats in. Don't snip the strap holding these together until in place. 6+ hours assembly (solo)
Like & HateJosvardoI like the product, the building part with the type of instructions that comes with it absolutely not. Do not recommend building alone if you can’t figure out what to do by the pictures/how it supposed to look. Instruction didn’t have separate baggies with it labeled per items to at least help during building it.
Impossible to assembleKerriBought this bed, attempted to put it together, the base would not go together, went back to store with those pieces initially told that is was us, my husband then told then to look, they agreed it was the parts, they gave us replacement parts went home, same situation had to return the entire bed with no assistance, I would have thought that would have helped a little more. Took as a full two days to attempt to assemble only to pack the entire thing up and return!also the directions were pointless, do actual directions just a few pictures!

Brimnes bed frames have a major design flawAnonymous reviewerWhen moving, I found that the 2 bottom boards that brace the frame on each side were broken on both my Brimnes bed frames where the dowel and cam/screws attach to the cross piece. The flaw is that the cross piece is suspended above the floor between the braces. Weight from the mattress/people pushes it down and the pressure on the cam screws splinters the particle board.
I can’t reassemble my beds without replacing the bottom boards. I looked at used Brimnes frames for sale, and every one had the same broken boards on both sides.
My son bought a Brimnes bed, and the Task Rabbit guy told him about the design flaw and said he doesn’t tighten these screws down. I helped my son move, and his boards weren’t broken.
My warranty is long expired, so now I’m going to have to junk these 2 queen bed frames. Also, everyone hits their legs on the drawer handles. Don’t buy this.
The bed frame is cute butIsataThe bed frame is cute and all but just a heads up get ready to be lifting up your mattress every other night to fix the skeleton of the bedframe it comes undone every night and I’m really tired of it honestly not worth the back pain
DELICATE ASSEMBLY!!!!KaitlanBefore you begin assembling this bed, please ensure you are working on a perfectly level floor. The construction process is very sensitive to uneven surfaces, and here is why:
The Design: Assembly begins by creating a central "cross" using the main spine (running from the headboard to the footboard) and lateral support pieces that spread out to the sides.
The Challenge: If your floor isn't level, the lateral pieces will not align correctly with the spine.
The Result: Even a slight tilt prevents the pieces from sliding in deep enough for the half-turn Phillips head locking nuts to engage properly.
Bottom Line: To save yourself a massive headache and ensure the locking cams actually secure the frame, double-check your workspace with a level before you start!
We learned out lesson the hard way and while trying to elevate one side of the bed the lateral support has split from moving it about no joke 1/4"-1/2" up
Now I have and $850 pile of wood....

Just what I needed!KristiI have 2 big Ikea dressers, night stands in a smaller space. I bought this bed so that I could remove a dresser. I was hesitant to purchase after reading some reviews. Glad I took a chance. Hardware is in numbered bags, I laid each piece and organized to confirm all was there. I thought the instructions were easy to follow and believe because of how I organized it first. I didn't have to guess which dowel or screw was needed and assembly was smooth. I built this bed by myself (56 year old single lady) in 5 hours and this thing is solid. Not a single loose piece or a sound as I move about on the bed. The slats are in there tight so I'm not worried at all about them slipping . The drawers glide perfectly. This is a great bed and have no regrets.
Excellent Buy!MichaelI’ve been eyeballing this bed frame for years, but it was always so expensive. After going through many bed frames I’ve finally buckled down and purchased this one and I’m glad I did. Yes, the build takes some time, but I’ve been building chairs, desks and bed frames for years so it didn’t bother me. So, if you’re an experienced builder this bed frame is not that difficult to build. You have to read and follow the directions carefully, because similar looking screws are different, but the directions are clear and concise on which screws to use. Like I said it does take some time due to so many pieces, but not due to difficulty. It took me 4 hours by myself. So make sure you have time before building.
The bed is very sturdy, quiet and looks really nice. I’m very thankful and happy with my purchase.
TrashBillyComplete trash of a bed frame. Hardware provided in the first few steps is NO WHERE NEAR long to reach and do the job it is supposed to do. IKEA used to have quality furniture. This is a COMPLETE waste of nearly $600.

Step 6 needs a rework. This is infuriatingJoshStep 6 of Brimnes is a disaster. I have never had so much trouble with one step from an ikea purchase. Absolutely unacceptable.
Difficult to assembleBethI completely agree with the other November review. The center design is poor due to the lack of clear instruction for a critical step, and the lack of precision in the alignments and holes, which all pop out when you add the parallel side boards on the floor. Everything is just a bit off. We had to redo it several times. Also there was glue splattered on a board, dirt, holes covered by laminate, and a laminate seam peeling. I’ve bought ikea for years and I see a significant drop in quality.

This would be all well and good if they keys were longer, the holes were bored properly-but they're not, and that's before even mentioning how inadequately they stress the importance of this step. In having to reattempt this step so many times (several times with two others assisting me), I had multiple of the cam locks physically snap, and the wood fractured to the point of being irreparable. Since the only way to get replacement parts is to go to a physical store, and l lack a car at the moment, this will seriously set back the timeline of me properly settling into my new home, even if I were to hire someone to assemble it for me. I love IKEA products in general, but this level of difficulty in assembly is frankly unacceptable.
