There's a reason it's cheapTamaraAs soon as I took the plastic off I realized it looks like it needs to be sanded. Also the knife marks are so ways to see even after 2-3 uses.
Not badIsaiahI actually find this board surprisingly good, but I had to do a few things to enhance it. The board will splinter when wet, but to fix this, look up "water popping". Old woodworking trick that will help. After that I added some butcher block conditioner which enhanced the wood's water resistance and added some nice chatoyancy to boot. No warping or cracking so far.
WarpsJesseIt's too thin, too light, and too small, and made of glued slices instead of single piece of acasia wood. But the worst problem is than any amount of getting wet will cause this thing to start to curl up from one side. I've tried keeping it hydrated with oil, but that won't stop it from warping.

brand new cutting board has splintersWan-YiI bought a wooden cutting board from IKEA, but when I was about to use it and cleaned it with a sponge, the surface felt very rough and there were a lot of wood splinters.

Sad to give this a one starJanineThe size, appearance, and style of this cutting board is great. HOWEVER, it smelled awful. Like manure. I tried several methods to clean and treat the board, to no avail. Ended up returning it. According to the internet, sometimes acacia wood can put off an unpleasant odor. IKEA may want to reconsider this as a food prep material.
Chemical smell and splintersStevenUpon removing the shrink wrapping, the cutting board has many splinters and gives off a strong chemical smell (probably the wood stain that was used) -- I found its safety for food preparation questionable, so I will be returning.
Perfect SizeJimI was tired of dragging out my large cutting board all of the time for sandwiches and other smaller things. I found this one at Ikea which is the perfect size.
Cute and perfect little boardEvnikaCute and perfect little board to cut something up quickly like a fruit or It's not heavy like the bamboo one they had. Wish it came in a bigger size.
SplintersLisetLooks like a nice cutting board, but it’s not even usable. I oiled it twice and washed it with water. The amount of little splinters that are on the board is insane. It just keeps ‘peeling’ apart no matter how many times I wipe and clean it.
Definitely recommend to not buy this item.

Board Stained My CounterAnonymous reviewerI was excited to receive this board after I purchased 2 bamboo cutting boards. But my excitement quickly went away once the board was wet and made stains on my countertop. It also stained paper towels. I don't feel compfortable using this for food preperation nor do I have time to return it to the store. I wish I never bought it.
