I use a tea towel that I got from IKEA also folded on it to keep anything from sliding... a place mat also fits perfect in it... easy to handwash. this is our third one, had the first two for 4 years, but left one in calif when we were out there so needed to replace it nd so glad they still have them., its only $2.99 can't beat that...
