Janea is a 30-year-old home decor and lifestyle social media influencer from North Carolina. She currently lives in Los Angeles and enjoys creating encouraging content on Instagram and YouTube to help people create a happy home and a healthy mind.
As a full-time creator, Janea likes to be honest with her online community about the ups and downs of life, in the hopes of anyone passing by feeling less alone or to feel comforted. Even though her work is online, she focuses on creating an abundant life by spending time hosting loved ones, getting outside as much as possible and encouraging her audience to do the same.  

How does your home reflect who you are and your identity? 

“I come from a loud and outgoing family, full of robust personalities and with people who love to host. The fruit truly doesn’t fall far from the tree and I’ve enjoyed trying to create a home that reflects all of that.
Being that I’m also a major homebody, it’s been important to create a fun space that’s great for hosting, but also one that can support my many couch potato days. Finding ways to reflect my vibrant and playful side, while also creating a cozy and relaxing atmosphere has required a little patience and focus on only bringing pieces home that make me smile when I walk by. Whether it’s my croissant light (picture those bowls of artificial lemons, but instead it’s a croissant with a light in it) or my oversized loveseat, I just want a little bit of joy to be sparked when I walk by pieces I’ve brought home.” – Janea Brown 

If you were an IKEA product, which would you be and why?  

“I’d be the BILLY / OXBERG bookcase because I spent a lot of my childhood at IKEA with my mom and she still has these bookcases, two decades later. They are timeless, great quality and durable. Who wouldn’t want to be all of that?” – Janea Brown
