Classic Swedish plantballs & cream sauce

Swedish comfort food means plantballs with mash, green peas, cream sauce, and lingonberry jam. This hearty and time-saving dish is a fuss-free option for an everyday family dinner.

Serves: 4 | Time:  20 minutes

Ingredients:

Swedish plantballs & cream sauce
360 g (ca 24) HUVUDROLL plantballs
1 pkg ALLEMANSRÄTTEN mashed potatoes
1 pkg ALLEMANSRÄTTEN mix for cream sauce 4 tbsp SYLT LINGON lingonberry jam
2-4 tbsp milk or water for the mashed potatoes
3 dl water for the cream sauce
1/2 dl cream for the cream sauce
200 g green peas, frozen

Step by step:

  1. Place the frozen peas in a bowl and cover them with lukewarm water.
  2. Prepare plantballs, mashed potatoes and cream sauce according to package instructions.
  3. Drain the peas and serve them in the bowl.
  4. Serve the plantballs together with mashed potatoes, cream sauce, green peas and lingonberry jam.
  5. Tip! For a meatier option, you can use meatballs instead of plantballs.
