Bedroom lighting ideas – how to set any mood

The light fixtures in your bedroom don’t just illuminate the space, they can alter the mood, transform the function and add to the aesthetic. Plus, LED lights can really do a lot for your energy savings. That’s why it’s good to know what to look out for when choosing bedroom lights.

Setting the foundation with a ceiling lamp

A ceiling lamp on a dimmer is always a good start. For practical light when cleaning, for setting any mood, and for general light that decreases contrast when you’re reading under the bedside lamp. It’s much easier on the eyes.

Bedside table lamps at the ready

Bedside table lamps by the bed – like all task lights – provide focused light that makes it easier to concentrate for longer periods of time. You can choose one for reading, or just to match your partner's. Many smaller lamps around the room are also a clever trick to make the room feel larger. Consider your bedroom activities and colours when choosing your lamp too. If your walls are of darker shades, bedside lamps with warm lights are soft and pretty, but may not offer sufficient reading light. If you prefer brighter lamps, use XXX. Or you can always use our LED dimmers.
