Wash this product before using it for the first time.

Avoid heating a dry and empty frying pan too quickly, especially with the induction hob's booster function, as this can cause the pan to warp and negatively affect the coating's non-stick properties.

Pleasantly surprised by non-stick performanceAnonymous reviewerI bought this ready to be disappointed, coming from a tramontina pro-grade frying pan, but I found this 'sol-gel' ceramic coating as non-stick as teflon and the pan itself built fairly well. Eggs slide right off without any oil at all, and the pan heats evenly both on induction and gas. The pan is well balanced and sits well in the hand. The surface is smoother and harder than teflon-on-aluminum, so it might survive mechanical damage better, but I don't know yet about how it will last over many heating cycles since the bonding chemistry is different. My last pan cost twice as much and lasted 4 years, so I definitely think this is a worthwhile buy if it makes it for 2 years. with induction and no pfoas in the mix, I'm really happy with it.5

What is sol-gel ceramic non-stick coating?

Sol-gel non-stick is often called ceramic coating and is an increasingly common replacement for other non-stick coatings in frying pans. It comprises mostly of silica and is created by applying a gel-like solution to the product and drying it in an oven. The result is a hard, glossy surface with non-stick properties. Sol-gel can be produced in different colours, it withstands high heat, is easy to use and clean – and allows cooking with little or no fat.
