Read carefully before buyingMarcusFirst thing we were quite surprised that this product does not come with screws. But to be fair we realised that it did state on the product page that the item does not come with screws, just that we weren’t expecting that such a basic and important item would be left out. Also, not just any screw will do, you would need to find the right ones forthe shelf.
Assembly will require some basic skill and precision in aligning the brackets straight and equally to each other. We felt this product should have an assembly option available at checkout but there wasn’t.
However, upon calling customer service we learnt that assembly service is available on request over phone with a S$35 fee and S$5 charge per screw. All in all assembly would cost much more than the product itself.
The assembly team does what it promises but with some missteps. They did not bring a ladder or a vacuum with them. Considering that this is a floating shelf you think they would bring a ladder. They also did not lay plastic over furniture within the vicinity of the drilling area. One of the most annoying thing about this experience was that as a result of using our Dyson vacuum, the fine dust that came from drilling clogged our the vacuum filter, which is a real hassle to clean for the model we own. This could have been easily avoided if the assembly team brought their own vaccum. Considering that this is a professional service shouldn’t they have brought ladder and vacuum? Anyway just wanted to share our experience and hope this review gives you an idea on what to expect.
