Terms & Conditions for IKEA Home design service

These terms and conditions apply to the Home design for your home advice/service by IKEA as available on the website.

 

  • The Home design for your home advice/service is tailored for residential customers only.
  • Services are limited in time, as detailed below, and happen in-store with an Home Furnishing Consultant (the “Consultant”):
  • IKEA Home design solution: Up to three appointments comprising of 1) up to 3 hours consultation appointment 2) up to 60-minute presentation of plans and feedback and 3) a final up to 60-minute appointment with updated plans and sharing a payment link for your order if applicable.
  • During the appointments, the Consultant will assist the Customer in discussing solutions within the IKEA range based on the measurements provided (excluding home design services) and the budget from the Customer.
  • Depending on the individual needs, the design will be presented as a floor plan with suggested furniture, products, and accessories where functionally relevant, and a shopping list (the “Proposal”). The design will consist of recommended products intended for the specific use of the product. The design may also include elevations or 3D views of kitchen or storage solutions.
  • The Customer will receive one design option only. Any additional options or revisions required will need to be arranged directly with the Consultant at their next available opportunity. The Customer will incur a token design fee in the form of $300 minimum spending at IKEA, through purchase of a $300 IKEA gift card after the first consultation and prior to any further design works. Customers can use the gift card to purchase furniture and food at IKEA. The gift card shall not be refundable under any circumstances.
  • The customer should review the product specifications on the IKEA website and product instructions in order to decide on the suitability of the products for the customer’s intended use. The customer accepts that no additional warranties or consumer rights relating to the product beyond those given in the IKEA terms and conditions of sale shall apply. Any such warranties, express or implied, are hereby fully excluded.
  • The Service can be booked through our co-workers in-store. Customers need to complete a survey before booking prior to the first appointment in order to help the Consultant with regards to what design services are required for, what the needs of the room(s) are, and the design styles preferred.
  • The customer must provide the Consultant with the measurements for the room(s) along with images of the room(s) before the first appointment. IKEA accepts no liability for room dimension accuracy provided by the customer, unless the customer has used the IKEA Kitchen measuring service.
  • IKEA reserves the right to cancel the booking at any time before the appointment. IKEA shall use reasonable endeavours to provide the customer with advance notice of any cancellation. However, in any circumstances where an appointment is cancelled, the customer will be offered a new appointment.
  • The customer may cancel the appointment 48 hours before the appointment is scheduled by emailing, [email protected]. If the customer is more than 30 minutes late, our designconsultant reserves the right to reschedule the appointment. Attempts will be made to reschedule the appointment within a four-week period pending availability.
  • We recommend purchasing the products after confirming at the time of designing or while stock lasts. For any amendments due to availability or suitability in which a redesign is required, IKEA shall not be liable/hold responsibility for product unavailability. Customers are requested to purchase the additional gift card package and have the re-design appointment arranged at the next availability.
  • Any products mentioned from external suppliers or contractors suggested by the Consultant to implement the Service are utilised at the customer’s own discretion and risk and are therefore excluded from the scope of these Terms and Conditions. Any products from external suppliers or contractors are recommended for the customer’s own convenience only. IKEA has no control over external suppliers or contractors and accepts no legal responsibility for any products purchased from external suppliers or contractors. Any reference to any external supplier or contractor does not mean that IKEA endorses that third party’s website, products, or services. The customer’s use of that external supplier or contractor’s website, product, or service shall be governed by the terms and conditions of that external supplier or contractor and is at the customer’s own risk.
  • Our Consultant are limited to suggesting IKEA furniture and products designed for their intended use only.
  • IKEA reserves the right to withdraw the Service or amend these conditions at any time without notice.
  • Customer data will be processed in accordance with IKEA’s privacy policy, details of which are available on the following website https://www.ikea.com/sg/en/customer-service/privacy-policy.
  • This service is applicable for IKEA customers for household use only.
