Game Rules and Gameplay 

What are the basic rules of the game?

  1. Find as many hidden characters as you can within 45 minutes. There are a total of 8 hidden characters.
  2. Submit your answers as soon as you find them as submission time will be taken into consideration during points allocation.
  3. The first team to find hidden character A will earn 140 points, the second team will earn 139 points etc. No points given if hidden character is not spotted or if the keyword is spelt wrongly.
  4. Do fill up your correct team number. The event organiser will not be responsible for any wrong team number filled up.
  5. Team members must stay together at all times during gameplay.
  6. Do not share your answers.
  7. In any case of discrepancy, ThisisAnagram the official event organiser will have the final say.
  8. Answers submitted after 10.15am will not be taken into judging.
  9. If there is more than 1 team with the highest score, an electronic spin the wheel will be used to determine the final winner. The spin will be recorded and submitted to the audit team to ensure fairness. This spin will be done in IKEA's office and will be witnessed by at least 3 IKEA Co-workers who are not involved in the campaign.  

What areas of the store are out of bounds? 

  • "No Force" Policy: Emphasise that locks and props do not require brute force. Do not move any furniture in the showroom. 
  • Electrical outlets or drop ceilings are not part of the game.
  • No characters are hidden in the Cookware/Tableware section of the showrooms.
  • No characters are hidden in the Co-workers only Areas (i.e Offices, Fullserve area).

Safety and Logistics 

Will the store be open to regular shoppers during the event?

Yes, the store will remain open. Participants must respect and be mindful of regular shoppers and keep the shopping experience comfortable for all. The Organiser reserves the right to remove any player who causes disruption, behaves inappropriately, or fails to be considerate of other shoppers. 

Is there a dress code?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for movement.

Is there a bag drop area?

All participants are responsible for their own personal belongings. There are lockers on Level 2 that are free to use but IKANO or the event organiser will not be responsible for these items.


What happens if there is an emergency?

Event staff and security personnel will be on-site. In case of an emergency, immediately locate the nearest event crew member and listen to IKEA’s security procedures.

Hide and Seek Terms & Conditions

Before you join the  Hide & Seek event, please read our terms & conditions. 

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. The IKEA Hide and Seek is open to all customers. To qualify for registration, you will need to form a team of two (2) persons. At least one member must be an IKEA Family member and the second member must be a minimum of 8 years old on the event date.
  2. Registration opens from 14 May to 31 May (both dates inclusive).
  3. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who must provide consent during registration.
  4. Registration is not a confirmation of your slot; a confirmation email will be sent to you one week before.
  5. By registering for the event, participants consent to IKEA and its appointed event partners to the collection, use and processing of their personal data for the purposes of event administration, coordination, communication and safety management.
  6. Registration which are incomplete, late or do not meet the criteria will not be accepted.
  7. The event is not open to IKEA co-workers and contractors.
  8. IKEA reserves the right to change the terms or duration of the event at any time.  Participants must ensure that they are physically and mentally fit to take part in the event.
  9. Participants with medical conditions, injuries, or health concerns should seek medical advice prior to registration.
  10. Participants must comply with all event rules, instructions from IKEA staff and safety guidelines at all times.
  11. Running in restricted areas, climbing on furniture, entering staff-only areas or any unsafe behaviour is strictly prohibited.
  12. IKEA reserves the right to disqualify any team for unsafe conduct, disruptive behaviour or failure to follow instructions, without prior notice.
  13. IKEA reserves the right to cancel the event without prior notice in the event of unforeseen circumstances. We are not responsible for any damage, direct or indirect, resulting from such cancellation.
  14. IKEA shall not be liable for any loss, injury, or damage to persons which at any time may have suffered or sustained during the event.
  15. By participating or entering the premises, you consent to IKEA, IKEA staff, IKEA affiliates and appointed partners to capture or record their photos and videos during the event and grant the rights of possession of the above-described and have full permission to use for marketing purposes.
  16. By participating in this event, participants give permission to IKEA, IKEA staff, IKEA affiliates and appointed partners to process the participants’ personal data, which is provided through the registration form entries for event purposes.
  17. The winning team will win 1,000,000 IKEA Family points and it will be credited into the account stated in the registration.

TERMS & CONDITIONS | Organiser, Duration & Eligibility 

1. The ‘Golden Ball Search Party’ Event (“Event”) is organised by Ikano Pte Ltd (“IKEA” or “Organiser”). The event period is from   1 June 2026 to  21 June 2026 (both dates inclusive) ("Event Period") during official store operating hours. 

The specific event dates breakdown per store is as follows: 

Week 1: IKEA Tampines from 1 – 7 June 2026 (Monday – Friday: 11am – 10pm Saturday and Sunday: 10am – 10pm)
Week 2: IKEA Alexandra from 8 – 14 June 2026 (Monday – Friday: 11am – 10pm Saturday and Sunday: 10am – 10pm)
Week 3: IKEA Jurong from 15 – 21 June 2026 (Monday – Sunday: 10am – 10pm)

2. The Contest is open to all IKEA customers ("Participant / Participants"), except for the employees (of the organiser), affiliates, third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, advertising agents, public relations agents and promotional agencies, including their immediate family members.   

3. Participants will assume full liability in case of any injury, loss, claim, or accident (including loss of life) resulting from participation in the event and/or use of their prizes.  

4. If this Event is interrupted in any way or cannot be conducted as reasonably expected for reasons beyond the reasonable control of the Organiser, then the Organiser is entitled, at its absolute discretion, to change the terms and conditions of this Event, postpone, terminate or cancel the Event, if required, without prior notice.  

Event Mechanics & Rules 

1. There will be 70 Golden balls hidden at each designated IKEA store per week, with 10 balls released daily.

2. Each golden ball will contain a prize slip indicating the prize won including the terms and validity of redemption.

3. Customers are allowed to search for hidden golden balls within designated areas of the stores such as the IKEA showroom during official store operating hours. 

4. Golden balls are available on a first-come, first-served basis, while stocks last. 

5. Limited to one (1) golden ball redemption per customer per week, for all gift card related prizes. Customers who redeem a gift card prize will not be eligible to participate again in the same week.  

6. All prizes must be redeemed within the same week and the same store that they are won. Unredeemed food prizes will be forfeited. Unclaimed gift card prizes will be carried forward to the next designated store.

Golden balls will only be hidden in publicly accessible areas of the store that are safe and easy to reach areas. The golden balls will not be placed in the IKEA markethall, self-serve areas, staff-only areas, restricted zones, high and difficult-to-reach locations, or areas considered unsafe or hazardous. Participants are strictly prohibited from running, climbing, moving fixtures, disrupting store operations or entering restricted areas to search for these golden balls.  

7. The organiser reserves the right to remove any customer engaging in unsafe or disruptive behaviour. 

8. The organiser shall not be responsible for any injury, loss, damage, or expense incurred as a result of participating in the Event or redeeming a prize, except where required by law.

Prize Redemptions

1. By participating in this Event, customers can find the following prizes within 70 Golden balls within the designated store in the specified event period: 
a. 5-pc Curry puffs 
b. 2-pc Chicken wings 
c. Oat vanilla ice-cream 
d. $1,000 IKEA gift card 
e. $100 IKEA gift cards

For food prizes (curry puffs, chicken wings & ice cream) must be redeemed directly at the IKEA Swedish Bistro within the designated store in the specified event period. Customers are required to present the original prize slip to the cashier. Cashier will collect the prize slip upon redemption. Food prizes are subject to availability at the point of redemption. 

2. For gift card prizes, customers are required to access the provided link in the prize slip and complete the online redemption form within the specified event period. Customers must provide all the details requested and are required to complete all the fields of the online entry form to confirm the awarding of prize. Customers are also required to retain the golden ball and the original prize slip as proof of entitlement for gift card redemption. 

3. The Organiser will not accept online redemption form entries that are incomplete, late, submitted late, or is otherwise incomprehensible to the Organiser will not be accepted.  

4. The organiser will contact eligible winners regarding gift card fulfilment before the end of the same week. Customers are required to present the golden ball and the original prize slip as proof of entitlement for gift card redemption. 

5. Lost, damaged, altered, or illegible prize slips will not be accepted and the prize redemption will be deemed void. 

6. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash. 

7. Product images and descriptions are for illustrative purposes only.  

8. By filling up the form, participant consent to IKEA and its appointed event partners to the collection, use and processing of their personal data for the purposes of administration, coordination, and marketing communication. 

9. The Organiser will not assume responsibility or liability for the Gift Card / food after it has been collected by the winner(s) and expressly excludes and rejects any statement, warranty or endorsement, implied or written, written or oral, regarding the Gift Card / food offered under the Event, including but not limited to guarantees of quality, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or use, health and safety.
