Why does my kitchen drawer end up too high or too low?

Depending on where the drawer is intended to be positioned within the cabinet (at the bottom, above the bottom drawer or as an internal drawer), the drawer and drawer front need to be assembled differently. If the drawer front appears misaligned or positioned incorrectly it is most likely because it has not been assembled according to the intended position within the cabinet.

If the assembly is not adapted to the drawer’s intended position within the cabinet, the drawer or drawer front will be incorrectly positioned. This can be easy to overlook, so please check the assembly instructions again to ensure that the drawer has been assembled correctly for its position in the cabinet. Below we have listed the two most common mistakes when assembling kitchen drawers:
The P-shaped fittings on the drawer front has been fitted incorrectly
If the P-shaped fittings on the drawer front are fitted incorrectly, the drawer front will be offset by approximately 1 cm. The fittings has three holes, but only two of them are used.
For all drawers except the bottom drawer, the fittings should be secured using the screw holes located on either side of the raised section of the fittings. For the bottom drawer the fittings should be secured using the two screw holes located below the raised section.
This detail can be easy to miss so please check the assembly instructions again to ensure that the fittings on the drawer front have been fitted correctly.
The drawer rail has been fixed to the wrong row of holes
The drawer rail has two rows of holes so if the drawer sits too high or too low, it is often because the rail has been attached using the wrong row.
For the bottom drawer, the screws should be fitted in the lower row of holes. For all other drawers, the screws should be fitted in the upper row of holes.
