How do I clean the fan filter in my fan?
You can choose to clean the grease filter in your fan either in the dishwasher or by hand. Just remember to rinse the filter well and dry it before putting it back in the fan. When cleaning in a dishwasher, the filter should not be mixed with other dishes.
Cleaning the fan filter is important to keep your kitchen fan efficient and the air in your kitchen fresh. Here are some simple steps you can follow:
- Remove the filter: Start by removing the filter from the fan. Most filters can be easily taken out by pressing a latch or unscrewing a few screws.
- Dishwasher: If the filter is made of metal, you can clean it in the dishwasher. Place the filter separately from other dishes and run a regular wash cycle.
- Hand wash: Alternatively, you can clean the filter by hand. Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add a few tablespoons of baking soda and let the filter soak in the boiling water for about 10 minutes. Then rinse the filter with hot water and let it dry completely before putting it back in the fan.
- Wipe down: If the filter is very dirty, you can use a brush to scrub away grease and dirt before rinsing it.
To get the perfect procedure for your specific filter, we recommend checking the user manual for your appliance.
