How do I descale the dishwasher?
Descale the dishwasher using a descaling agent for dishwashers or ordinary citric acid. Pour the descaling agent or citric acid into the detergent compartment (200 grams) and run a hot program without load. How often you need to descale your dishwasher depends entirely on the hardness of the water and whether dishwasher salt is used.
If you have soft water, your dishwasher may need to be descaled 1-2 times a year. With hard water, it will need to be descaled slightly more often, about every 3 months.
Limescale blocks the water supply in the dishwasher, which means it has to work harder to achieve the same results as before. This can lead to increased energy consumption, increased wear and tear and limescale stains on the dishes.
