What do I need to consider when installing a kitchen fan?

The fan is one of the most important appliances in the kitchen, and for the fan to work as well as possible, it is important that you choose the right fan, the right accessories, and that the fan is installed correctly. All fans in our range, except for LAGAN, are tested with our flexible duct NYTTIG TUB 150. Here we highlight four things that are important to consider when installing a kitchen fan.

  • Choose the right diameter for the flexible duct NYTTIG TUB. All our fans (except LAGAN) have been tested with NYTTIG TUB 150. Narrower ducts increase noise levels and negatively affect airflow.
  • Place the first bend in the duct as high up as possible. If the air encounters a bend immediately, it increases noise levels and negatively affects airflow.
  • Avoid bending or curving the flexible duct during installation. Each bend and curve creates higher noise levels and negatively affects airflow.
  • Try to keep the flexible duct as short as possible. The longer the duct, the greater the resistance. The flexible duct should not be compressed to fit the required length. The duct should first be extended to its full length, which is 300 cm, and then cut to the desired length.
