There is a smell coming from my dishwasher, what do I do?
Dishwashers can emit a faint, harmless odor when they are new and hasn't been run as many times. If the smell coming from the machine is foul, such as sewer or mold, it often means that there is a blockage somewhere in the machine, in an external water trap or that dirty dishes with old food residues have been left inside the machine for a long time.
Cause: The materials in the machine may emit a faint odor when they are new. This does not indicate any defect in the product.
Solution: New dishwashers have a special smell. This smell is in no way harmful. The smell subsides after a number of washing dishes.
Cause: There may be a blockage in the machine or in an external water trap.
Solution: Clean the inner filter system of the dishwasher. Check that the drain hose isn't bent or twisted.
Clean the sink water trap and remove any blockages. Use the intensive program.
Cause: If the dishwasher is used infrequently and dirty dishes are left in the machine for a long time, food residues may cause odours.
Solution: Use the rinsing program between washes and use the intensive program when washing dishes and use a dishwasher cleaner.
