Why is the bottom of my cookware uneven?

When the metal in cookware gets hot, it can expand marginally, sometimes causing the bottom to become a bit concave during use. This is completely normal and does not affect the function. As the pan cools, the bottom returns to its original shape again.

To take the best care of your frying and cooking pans, it's important to let them cool before rinsing them with cold water. If you cool down hot vessels too quickly, the metal does not have time to return to its natural shape. This can cause the bottom to remain slightly curved in the long run (convex), which in turn can lead to the pan standing a little unevenly on the stove. By allowing the vessel to cool at its own pace, it retains its shape better and functions optimally for a long time.
