Desk okay but quality control not greatDesireI am eventually happy with the desk but it was a process. The first desk we bought did not have the holes drilled in one of the pieces to allow it to fit together with another piece so we had to return the desk to Ikea. In the second desk we bought some of the holes were drilled a bit skew (one of these holes was for the groove for the drawer and now the drawer does not slide in easily but gets stuck partway through and needs to be forced closed because the screw is not flush). The size of the desk is good but it seems quality control at Ikea has slipped a bit.4

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded.
