Assembly takes a few hours and is definitely easier with two people. One thing I would have liked to know before buying is that the mattress is sold separately, and the metal frame can make some noise if the screws are not tightened properly after a period of use. A quick check and retightening usually solves this.
The ladder is secure, but younger children may need some time to get comfortable climbing up and down. The space underneath the lower bunk can also be used for storage, which is a nice bonus.

Perfect for small placesBabul ReddyIt's very sturdy, and I use this bed in a small guest room. Two adults can sleep separately with privacy and comfort. My only suggestion for new buyers is, please don't throw away the cardboard sheet. Reuse the cardboard sheet between the metal frame and mattresses so that in the long term, your mattresses won't get damaged as they're in direct contact with the metal mesh grill.5

Real VFM productAnonymous reviewerThe bed is string and adults can easily use it including the bunk. It was quite easy to assemble and it tool one hour from start to finish. You need the help of another person as some parts need to be held in place while you tighten the screws. Strangely one set of screws (6 nos) didn't fit into their responding holes. As they were not critical to the structure of the bed, I assembled without them. I hope IKEA has better QC while sending out accessories along with the product.5
