Solid wood is a hardwearing natural material that you can sand and treat the surface as needed.

Beech is an even-grained, durable hardwood with high shock resistance. When exposed to sunlight, beech ages from a cream tone to a light rose brown colour.

This stepladder has been tested according to standards for stability, durability and safety to withstand everyday use in your home for years.

Do not paint the step stool with ordinary paint due to the risk of slipping. However, you can treat it with STOCKARYD oil to protect the surface and enhance the wood grain pattern.

Very useful step ladderKavithaI have a single step ladder which is very useful. So, I bought this 2 step ladder too knowing how useful it is. But it was extremely difficult to assemble it using Alan key. I wish you would make it with screw and bolt system. Or using only screws.4

Terrible QualityAnonymous reviewerThe screw heads completely disintegrated when tightening with the allenkey provided. This happened with 2 of them, the metal was not durable for the torque required. However the IKEA customer service arranged for a pickup of the faulty product and a full refund. I have previously bought the same step stool 5yrs ago and is still in use. Maybe it is a bad batch.1
Works, but not CompactSujayAs much as it folds, it takes around 6-8 inches of floor space when folded, unless hung well over the floor. At 5'8", I can drill holes in my 9'6" high ceiling with this, so it works well if I'm balanced. Installing it is not the most easy, as not all the bolt-holes are aligned perfectly.4
Well DesignedEugenePracctical and useful. However, there is no apparent coating on the wood. The wooden surface is not coated with a result that the step ladder gets dirty and stained easily.4

These little steps come with a very handy hook so you can hang them flat on the wall. Only minor issue is they are a bit stiff to open and close. They look great
