How do I fix my BEKANT sit/stand desk?

If your BEKANT sit/stand desk is only moving in one direction, only one side is moving, or it’s not moving at all, performing a reset can resolve the issue.

Desk Not Moving

  • Unplug the desk from the wall socket for approximately one minute, then reconnect it.
  • If the desk is stuck at the highest or lowest position, proceed with the reset instructions below.
  • Otherwise, ensure all cables are properly connected and follow the installation instructions.

Only One Column of the Desk Moving

  • If only one column is moving, perform a reset.
  • If the issue persists after resetting, replace the column that is moving.

Two Columns Moving at Different Speeds

  • If the slower column can be manually moved (pulled up or pushed down), replace the slower column.
  • If manual movement is not possible, replace the faster-moving column.

Desk Only Moving Short Distances

  • If the desk is overloaded, remove excess weight.
  • Ensure the key is correctly inserted into the handset.
  • If the issue continues, consider replacing the power supply.

Desk Stops and Reverses During Operation

  • Check for any obstructions blocking the desk’s movement and remove them.
  • If the issue persists, you may need to replace the underframe.

Reset Required If You Experience Any of the Following:

  • Unable to move the desk fully up or down.
  • Desk only moves downward.
  • Desk only moves upward.
  • Desktop is not level.

Before Performing a Reset, Ensure:

  • All cables are securely connected.
  • Nothing is obstructing the desk’s movement.
  • The desk is not overloaded.
  • The key is correctly inserted into the handset.

Reset Instructions:

  1. Press and hold both the up and down buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds. The desk will enter reset mode and move downward at reduced speed.
  2. Continue holding until the desk reaches the lowest position. Both columns should be moving down.
  3. Once at the bottom, release the buttons and test if the desk can move upward again.
  4. If it does, the reset is complete.
