DisappointedAnonymous reviewerWish I would of read the reviews before I bought these, I assumed these would be the same white as the old ones I previously had, these actually have a green tinge to them which doesn't suit a white, pink and grey theme in the room and looks ridiculous on top of the white furniture, also slightly smaller than previous glass tops, they actually look better turned upside down but don't know how practical that would be. Ikea you should really change the description as these are not white like stated! Delivery is expensive enough without having the hassle of returning items that are not as described!1

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
