How to care for your CITRUS

The care level

When choosing your plant pay attention to your lifestyle and the care level of that plant. Some might need a little more care than others. But they all have a chance to grow and thrive in your home. 


Let's get to know CITRUS

They are native to South Asia and South East Asia. In the Citrus family there is alot of different varieties, such as Kumquat, Lemon and Calamondin. They produce beautiful scented flowers and of course fruit. Plant tip: in the summer months place them outdoors. 

Conditions

Place in a bright and sunny area. Remove dust every now and then to allow the plant to get as much light as possible.

Watering

The growing medium should be moist, but allow it to dry out a little between waterings. 

Minimum temperature 5°C

A lower temperature could affect the plant, they prefer to be slightly warmer and are sensitive to draughts. 

Location

Calamondin should be kept indoors during colder months. But are happy to live outside during the summer. 

Edible

Use this plant in the kitchen. It's edible!

Recommended pot diameter: 15 - 24cm

As your plant grows it will need some more space, aim for a pot that's 5-7cm larger than the previous pot. Repot every 2-3 years.
