How to care for your PHALAENOPSIS

The care level

When choosing your plant pay attention to your lifestyle and the care level of that plant. Some might need a little more care than others. But they all have a chance to grow and thrive in your home.

Let's get to know PHALAENOPSIS, better known as the Orchid

Orchids are native to Asia, there are alot of different varieties, but all have the same care instructions. Your Orchid will bloom several times a year, if you're nice to it. Plant tip: After flowering, cut off the old flower stalk above the second node.

Conditions

Place in a light area out of direct sunlight, this will damage the leaves.

Watering

The growing medium should be kept dry most of the time. Water by immersing the pot in a water bath until the growing medium is thoroughly moistened. Take it out and let the growing medium dry out.

Minimum temperature 18°C

A lower temperature could affect the plant.

Location

Orchids are best kept indoors.

Not for consumption

This plant is just for decoration, and should not be consumed.

Recommended pot diameter: 12cm

As your plant grows it will need some more space, aim for a pot that's 5-7cm larger than the previous pot. Plant tip: Do not cut the air roots to fit your pot. Our smallest Orchid comes in a 6cm pot.
