Grooves are difficult to cleanAnonymous reviewerParchment paper must be used to fully cover the edges, otherwise, any food remnants that stick to the walls may slip into the grooves of both the base and top parts. Once trapped, these remnants can be difficult to remove and may require soaking in water until they dislodge. The material itself is easy to clean though, but is thin so extra care not to force hard and distird it. Although the material is easy to clean, it is thin, so extra care must be taken to avoid applying too much force, which could cause it to become distorted2
GreatAnonymous reviewerBought two to make two tiered cakes. Fantastic and easy to clean by bunging it in the dishwasher. Just needs a bit of care when putting the base back on as if you don't do it right the batter can leak through.5

What is stainless steel?

Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing things – without losing its valuable properties.
