The chaise longue has storage under the seat. The lid automatically stops in the open position so that you can easily pick out and put back the things that you are storing.
You can place the chaise longue section to the left or right of the sofa, and switch whenever you like.

We tried all the big furniture players, but couldn’t find the right one that fired the dimensions we needed, at a price we could afford. Then we walked into Ikea and found the Vimle. It was the firmness we wanted, with a modular style we could make fit in our living room. It even had neat storage features, like the compartment under the chaise and footstool. We loved the fabric colour and feel that was a close match to the decor. The assembly was straightforward for me to construct on my own and has a ten year warranty, which reassured us when we had read other reviews about sagging cushions. A problem we haven’t encountered in nearly six months. The choice of arm sizes was good too; skinny or wide and flat. We went for the wider ones. Overall, we are really pleased with all aspects of it. The delivery team forgot the arm covers but a quick phone call to Ikea and they were posted out for next day delivery. Great job!

We brought this sofa back in November 2024 and it has totally disintegrated.
Both arms have completely collapsed with minimal use as the tops of them are thin chipboard and the framework has completely come apart.
Apon further inspection, we discovered that the sofa is nothing more than chip board and sheet board held together with wood staples with the joints (if you can call them that) are small blocks of wood no bigger than your thumb.
For the price that this sofa is, I'm absolutely disgusted at the quality.
