This soft sofa will have a long life since the seat cushions are filled with high resilience foam that gives good support for your body and quickly regains its original shape when you get up.
The sofa's sections can be combined in different ways to get a size and shape that suits you and your home.
You can create your own perfect combination with the planning tool. Assemble, take apart and put together again until it’s just right.
You can complete with VIMLE headrest to extend the backrest of the sofa, so that you sit even more comfortably with a nice support for your neck.
This cover is made from Hallarp fabric in cotton and polyester. It is soft, comfortable and durable – and woven with a texture and a slight two-tone effect.
The cover is easy to keep clean since it is removable and machine washable.

Looks pretty, but very uncomfortableAnonymous reviewerLooks great, but the sofa is extremely uncomfortable leaving you with lower back pain if you sit on it for 15 mins. Whenever we sit on it, we need to put a cushion under the back for extra support. We have had it for 1,5 years and it doesn’t get better at all. We’re now buying a new sofa because this one is just horrible comfort wise

New sofa with no cushion filling!Anonymous reviewerJust got our new vimle today and it’s nothing like our old one. The back seat cushions, limp, barely filled and seem to be lower than I recall. I’m going to have to try fill these as they have less filling than a sofa cushion does. Nothing like the shop ones at ikea. I’m tempted to walk in with mine to show the difference. My necks already hurting as I feel like I’m on a deck chair.
The arm screws also didn’t connect correctly on one side and just kept spinning. This is my third faulty vimle. Fed up!!
Frame broke after 18 monthsAnonymous reviewerWe had this sofa for 18 months and the MDF frame has crumbled at the front, which means the sofa is now lopsided. Can’t find the receipt but hoping this will be covered in the warranty.
AVOID ! ! Anonymous reviewerThis is the most uncomfortable sofa , the seat cushions sink right down at back after a short while and the back cushions are so hard and slant back which mean when you sit in it your whole lower back is not supported unless you put cushions there and due to hard back cushions you can’t relax ,you will end up with a bad back with this sofa. I had a Karlstad sofa prior to this which lasted a long time and was very comfortable and so surprised at how bad this sofa is, just avoid at all cost.

Looks so stylish and really sturdy . 5 stars all the way for me . Delivery was quick … Sadly we found we had an arm missing , but after contacting ikea they arranged for one to be sent out . No problems . 100% recommend *****
Discoloured Anonymous reviewerSofa is OK but the cover it's a different story. We have this sofa for maybe 1 year. After few months colour started to fade (from grey now we have white/pink patches). Now looks totally ruined there is discolouration on every spot where we seat or rest heads. Totally not worth the money better save a wee bit more and buy dfs sofa at it will keep longer, for sure longer than few months. Now I have a choice to cover 1 year old sofa with blankets or buy overpriced ikea covers, which are made from same material meaning again it won't last too long.

HARDAnonymous reviewerLooks good but I would never buy this again. We have had this sofa for nearly a year now and its the hardest thing I’ve ever sat on. So much so we had someone from ikea come to “quality” test it. Basically poked the sofa and left. Nobody sits on it because you may as well sit on the floor. Not sure why its got so many “comfortable” reviews.
Looks good but …….Anonymous reviewerIt’s cheap but when put together it’s not bad at all plus it is very comfortable considering the price BUT it smells absolutely disgusting like urine in fact which is due to the formaldehyde I believe which in itself is not something you want to come into contact with so I’d avoid it if I were you as nothing gets rid of the smell and believe me I’ve tried everything 😡
PS We paid £40 to have it delivered - didn’t arrive - rebooked - didn’t arrive - rebooked again - didn’t arrive. We got it eventually but I’m not impressed and can only presume IKEA have gone seriously downhill since I last shopped there🙄
The worst sofa I've ever boughtAnonymous reviewerI am so sad I bought this sofa. It's so uncomfortable as the back is low and the back cushions are not good enough. I have had problems with my back since I got it and it hurts exactly where the back of the sofa ends. The back cushions are not soft enough either. I've only had the sofa 6-9 months and I am already going to have to buy another sofa :(
Comfy but bad quality colourAnonymous reviewerWe’ve had the dark blue 3 seater for 3 years and generally love it. It withstands all the battering from my 5 year old and puppy however my only complaint is how grubby and faded the colour went. I’ve had to purchase another vimle cover set as the blue looked awful after a little while. Still very happy with overall quality but steer clear of the darker colours to avoid severe fading.
I’m not convinced the 3Anonymous reviewerI’m not convinced the 3 bolts at each end of sofa will support the main frame. I would expect a central leg to prevent damage over time with people sitting on the sofa. I can’t tighten the bolts any more to reduce movement when people change their sitting position
