Good Design, Frustrating Mechanical FlawAnonymous reviewerIt's firm but comfortable, & the mattress is high-quality. The fabric is sturdy, but daily use reveals a major dealbreaker.
The bottom cushions slide forward 0.5" when sitting, & the frame is so heavy that stowing it shifts the entire sofa, requiring it to be against a wall.
The biggest issue is a hardware misalignment: the screw attaching the side arm to the frame is too long and hits the black plastic hinge every time I stow the mattress. This happens on both sides, creating a physical block where the metal bolt grinds directly into the plastic components. I have to manually 'tuck' the plastic hinge in on one side, then walk to the other to do the same, just to retract the bed without force. This metal-on-plastic friction is already causing deep scratches and structural gouging. It’s a frustrating design oversight that makes stowing the bed a clumsy, repetitive struggle. Unless IKEA fixes this clearance interference, I’m returning it. Good style, but the execution is so flawed.
