not for heavy curtainsAnonymous reviewercorners dont align, you would require more of 'pins' to make sure if you have heavy curtains, they dont become lose. equally the hooks, they open1
Eeek - beware, lining this up is hardAnonymous reviewerI've previously connected three straight Vidga rails and it worked a treat. Lining the corner piece up for this is tough though and then if it's a fraction off you'll have a non-smooth track. So if you do it, get an expert in to fix it, I'm not bad at these things but it defeated me - for now at least.3
Part of a setAnonymous reviewerI have used this system or its predecessor for 27 years and the only reason I had to renew was because I couldn’t get the curtain hooks for the older system anymore 5
They do work!Anonymous reviewerWhile trying to search for my next curtain rails for my new flat, I realised that I hadn't left a review yet and seeing the other two negative ones, I decided to leave my review. I am a 52 year old woman with a bay window of a total length of 350cm. I used 3 middle pieces and 2 corners. It may be a bit tricky to line them up at first, but with a high enough step ladder to give you enough space to stand properly to figure things out without overstretching, all lined up properly. No catching in the corners. You just have to ensure it all lines up, that's all. Unfortunately, my next place doesn't have a bay window which means that the tracks won't fit, otherwise I would've taken them with me. Oh well, next tenant is lucky then ;)4
corner section does not workAnonymous reviewerThe corner pieces do not work. The connectors are not strong enough to keep the straight and curved pieces aligned. The gliders cannot track. So fiddly and a waste of time! 1
Don't buy this rail system if you need to join it.Anonymous reviewerAs other reviewers have said the corners create a slight join and the gliders will just not pass. This means you cannot open and close your curtains!
Spent over £60 on this system which will now have to taken down and replaced with something else entirely. I've spent a week-end of time + I'll have to fill all of the screw holes. Very disappointing- don't buy. I wish I'd seen the other reviews earlier.1
Don’t buy. Should have bought Swish instead.Anonymous reviewerDon’t buy this if you want to use in a bay window. The corners don’t align properly so the curtains won’t track. Additionally the hanging brackets have weak cammed posts that break and almost impossible to replace and the front to the bracket interferes with the drawing and opening of the curtains. I spent 6 hours putting up something that would have taken less than half that with other products. I have no confidence that it will survive more than 6 months. Wasted more than 80 quid and 6 hours. The Swish corded alternative is cheaper and better quality.
And it’s easy to get spares for.1
Worst IKEA product ever purchasedAnonymous reviewerThis is by far the worst product IKEA offers. It does not work. We bought a set for our curved bay window, and despite following the instructions and using the connectors, the corners do not line up with the straight tracks. Please do not waste your money on this. We have always been very happy with our IKEA products, but this caused so much frustration and was a waste of money. We have now had to buy new tracks altogether (elsewhere). This product is not fit for purpose. We had both a light and medium-heavy curtain, and both would constantly get stuck on the corner joints. Just don’t buy these janky corners - it’s not worth the frustration.1
Not compatible with older vidgaAnonymous reviewer The newer vidga corners are not compatible with the older gliders and they seem to not be 90 degrees. This makes life incredibly complicated. I worked out from lots of research that if you file down the new gliders that it will work. I have filed down 200 gliders only 2mm and now I have a working track, although it still gets caught. IKEA do not care as do most multibillion dollar co-operations. So, avoid. Go to dunelm etc. 1
Corners don't trackAnonymous reviewerWe brought this corner set for our bay window. Even without the curtains attached the hooks don't track around the corner and get stuck each time. It is not possible to draw the curtains even if each hook is taken round individually.1
