Chemical smell in the seal ringsAnonymous reviewerI bought this a year ago. The product idea is great, and it looks great. For over a year I’ve added filtered water (from my Brita) and always thought there was a strange taste/smell in the water but thought it was just me. Recently some friends came over and confirmed: the water smells funny. I’ve disassembled the product and was able to identify the cause: the seal rings SMELL AWFUL... I’ve boiled with vinegar, baking soda, etc etc, I’ve done all I could and yet the smell lingers on, to the point I’m thinking of calling an exorcist.
Contacted IKEA support and without the receipt they can’t do anything, which is a bit rich given that I’m not asking for a new product or refund, just send seal rings that don’t smell. The warranty shouldn’t be the focus, but rather a faulty product that is not delivering as promised.
Anyways, I wouldn’t recommend buying this unless the current version has addressed this issue. It’s really a strong chemical smell that not even sure it it’s hazardous.

Pimms o'clock!Anonymous reviewerFabulous dispenser at a great price, perfect for Pimms :). Easy to use and the spout doesn't leak at all. The lid doesn't have a seal however so need to be careful if tilting when full, but only a very minor niggle.
