Nice, solid but needs a good ladderAnonymous reviewerIt looks good but needs some fiddly assembling while hanging from the ceiling, with screws from the top. You can't assemble it then hang it. I dropped it about 10 times while trying to do this, wasn't damaged, so is very solid.4

The Rubik cube of lampshades!Anonymous reviewerThis is a lovely looking lampshade which we were attracted to because of the wood strip surround . However, even as seasoned, Meccano, Lego and IKEA constructors we were a bit tested when trying to work above our heads to connect the strips under tension! It was a two man job! Maybe this is much more suited as a low pendant light than the standard ceiling light. Once in situ it looked great though!3

So fiddly to assemble! Had to give up!Anonymous reviewerThis looks like it would be a lovely statement lampshade. It's larger than it might first appear. However, even as someone who is fairly patient with most IKEA furniture, I found this so fiddly to assemble – especially the very small screws, and the necessity to assemble it around the light fitting, making it very hard to see where the screws should go, above your head. Maybe it's just me, but I've given up on this one for now after more than an hour trying to get it to work.2

Finally worth the faffAnonymous reviewerLampshade is stunning and as a statement shade in a hallway with a very high ceiling it looks really great. But it has to be assembled in situ to accommodate the light flex and proved quite a procedure. We’re pretty resilient but had to give up and come back later. The little screws attaching the bamboo pieces to the top plastic fitting were a pain to get in when up a ladder working above comfort level. But it did get easier as we went along and it does look super. Not looking forward to future lightbulb changing though, that’s going to be a ‘mare. Looks wise it gets five stars, assembly gets a two so overall three stars? Instructions were a bit lacking tbh…3

Beautiful statement lightAnonymous reviewerBought two of these for quite a large room and they look great - but fiddly to put up as they need to be constructed in situ on the pendant wire but having done one, the second one was much easier. You need to pay careful attention to the instructions as the bent wooden slats have different shaped end pieces and there are also arrows which help line up the construction of the slats and final connectors (the arrows are printed on removable stickers). Ikea would do well to provide an oval shaped paper shade as a separate item to buy since paper shades get dusty and can discolour after a time so having the means to buy a replacement would extend the light shade's life. 5

It doesn’t tell you that they aren’t the same either end so we started to put it together only to have to take it down to redo it after realising the ends aren’t the same. Just annoying rather than anything wrong. It looks stunning up4
