Reviews
Impossible!Anonymous reviewerI had read the reviews and thought it couldn’t be that bad…it is worse than bad! Simply doesn’t fit, impossible to put together!!! Utter waste of money!
Poor quality Anonymous reviewerI don’t get all the 5 star reviews. To hook it over the grooves is pretty impossible. Whoever designed this definitely didn’t measure correctly. With it being paper as well you have to be gentle, but that doesn’t work when it literally won’t hook into place! Yes it’s cheap, but even so, it doesn’t make it any less infuriating or a waste of money.
Lampshade too flimsy. Anonymous reviewerLight is quite difficult to put together. Even with trying to be very gentle we still ripped the shade in two places. It is better to put onto the groves then raise rather than pull down. The large one is also tricky.
Table lampAnonymous reviewerAbsolute waste of money, poles won't stay in place, can't get the shade itself to latch on to the grooves at the bottom without it all falling apart. I bought 3 today and thrown them all away as they just aren't sturdy
Assembly trick without tearing.Anonymous reviewerAfter reading all the negative reviews; I still purchased this product because this lamp is a quintessential IKEA design . Just a little tip; 2 people needed to put hoops without tearing at the bottom of the lamp into the slots provided. We realised this after piercing 2 holes slightly, so hopefully all new buyers can purchase this & assemble it without any tears. Also, a warm yellow light bulb would be perfect for this lamp if used on a bedside table.
Measurements do not fit whatsoever, impossible to put togetherAnonymous reviewerThis explains why it was £4 and we spent even more on the lightbulbs each! The legs are flimsy and often came out, even after properly pushing them in as much as possible— no clicks heard! The shade is not long enough in comparison to inner wire frame, of which the parts of the shade that hook onto it do not actually meet up. I tried to hack at the frame with a pair of pliers to try and get that to fit, but nothing I tried worked. This is terrible and unusable so honestly just buy a more expensive lamp just to be sure it actually fits together properly.
Terribly designedAnonymous reviewerAs the other reviews say, the lampshade part doesn't fit over the structural bit and despite being light handed, your thumbs go through and tear the paper. The part that holds up the lampshade tore through the paper too. I know it's only £4 but it's terrible quality from IKEA
Very hard to assemble Anonymous reviewerVery hard to assemble. I both two one for each side of the bead and end up with one as second end up in rubbish after loosing my cool with trying to assemble.
RubbishAnonymous reviewerImpossible to assemble without tearing the paper shade. A disappointing product.
I cry tears of joy when I see thisAnonymous reviewerWhat more can I say, I love this lamp so much that I bleed tears of joy from my face by the pure adamant admiration when I see this lamp, I praise this lamp like the lamb of a shepherd after his herd has been feasted upon by wolves.
Gaslit by a lampAnonymous reviewerEverything went together with relatively little injury but after 30 minutes of straining and googling, the hoop on the bottom tore through the paper and destroyed the whole shade. Cheap is cheap but that design is fully bananas.
Looks great but the lousy designAnonymous reviewerIt looked great in the shop, well, if you ignored the ripped paper at the bottom, but that would be some wayward kid checking out it's strength. Sadly the "clicks" mentioned in the instructions largely didn't happen & the bottom of the shade won't attach. Having three hands might help here, as once two are connected and held in place you really need that third hand for the last one. You then realise your fingers are about to create a hole in the same place as the one in the shop. 90 mins wasted on a poorly constructed and impossible 3d puzzle.
Great Lamp, Great Value - Just pay attention when buildingAnonymous reviewerThese are a great little lamp and give more of an uplighting effect than I was expecting, particularly teamed with 305.504.92. The failures other reviewers experienced are because they were not considered in their assembly and rushed it. Every piece fits with a firm click and stays snugly in place; if it doesn't then push more firmly, because if it isn't fully engaged your shade will tear if you force it while fitting it. When everything is snugged down as it appears in the instructions you will have no issues. You may want some pliers to squeeze down the white wire shade support into the black plastic base. If it sits proud the shade won't fit. I have built three with no issues. This is a great piece of design that doesn't deserve a poor rating just because some reviewers are impatient...
Poor quality Anonymous reviewerRather badly designed. There is no give in it to allow the shade to be fitted without damaging it. Hence a torn paper shade. Too cheap to bother returning it. Very unlike Ikea to sell something of such poor quality. Disappointed.
Tricky to assemble without damageAnonymous reviewerThe frame needs some force to get it to click together. Without this the paper lampshade won’t fit and I ripped the first one I assembled. I drafted in help for the second, three hands were needed! If you can assemble them without tearing the lampshade they look good.
good clean lampAnonymous reviewereasy to assemble, and nicely clear and strong
Great valueAnonymous reviewerIt took a little bit of an effort and care to assemble the shade, but nowhere near what you would expect from the other reviews.
Impossible Anonymous reviewerThe lamp is almost impossible to assemble. There is absolutely no give in the legs you're supposed to pull the shade over. I gave up in the end.
So pretty but far too weakAnonymous reviewerNear impossible to get the shade on, both of them ripped. There is no give in the frame so you can't get it on without the pressure from your fingers tearing the paper. The legs also kept popping out and one of the clips holding the legs in place snapped. Really sad as they look beautiful and now I understand why they are so cheap. Not worth returning either as it will cost more to travel all the way back to Ikea
