Very cleverAnonymous reviewerThese drawers took a good 2 hours to put together which you wouldnt expect. But they are so clever in that if you have a drawer open and open another, the drawers close the one that is open! Very clever! Looking forward to adding to the collection. We had originally wanted the malm but realise these are no longer being sold, but very happy with these.

The dark brown oak effect looks incredibly elegant and premium in person. The delivery was flawless—everything arrived perfectly packed, completely undamaged, and absolutely nothing was missing from the set. Assembly instructions were clear and easy to follow. The drawers are very spacious, sturdy, and glide smoothly. It exceeded my expectations in every way, and I highly recommend it!
FaultyAnonymous reviewerThis product is the worst idea Ikea has ever had replacing the malm draws with something that is poorly put together does not hold half the amount of clothes and also is faulty the middle drawer separation keeps on unhooking every time you open the drawer! I’m absolutely in such shock and disbelief that this is the replacement of the malm drawers.
Awful Anonymous reviewerIkeas apparent replacement of Malm and absolutely horrendous. Flimsy, can’t fit anything in it and just a cost saving exercise in my opinion. Apparently discontinued Malm due to safety concerns but came with all accessories to secure yet people chose not to follow instructions? No doubt this is just cheaper to make. Sales will now drop - Ikea surely you can see your customers opinions on this??
Can't fit anything in itAnonymous reviewerWanted some Malm draws which we've had before and loved but not stocked any more so got these instead. Absolutely awful. I cant fit anything in them. The dimension of the draws is too small and they dont seem to pull out far enough to easily access them. What's the point of having something which looks nice if its not functional as well. Why they decided to replace Malm with these I have no idea but definitely a bad decision.
Awkward buildAnonymous reviewerAssembly was one of the most fiddly and longest jobs I've ever done with an Ikea piece or any flatpack furniture to be honest. Not all steps are in a logical order, the instructions on the drawer runners are unclear, as the diagrams showing the detail on which pieces go where are tiny and no way of working out from the part codes given. I found the drawer safety mechanism very awkward to put in and hurt my finger in the process. The screws seem to be poorer quality with lots of metal swarf coming off no matter which screwdriver head I used, risking them stripping and taking much longer to screw together than I'd expect. Happy with the overall result, but absolutely painful getting there. Not looking forward to building the next one.
They are okAnonymous reviewerWas very apprehensive so went to view them in the store. Purchased 2 and started to build when we got home. They do take longer to build than the malm drawers yes. But that’s for the new safety features to stop children getting hurt. They aren’t as good cosmetically as the malm either and there is a few nicks in the frames. They mark a lot easier too so just take extra care when building and don’t drag them around (build on carpet) and they are mostly fine. They are sturdy, not flimsy. But definitely can tell they are a lot smaller but you can tell that from the measurements anyway. Overall - I would purchase again. Cheap and cheerful!

Better than malmAnonymous reviewerI’ll be the odd one out to say these are better than malm. Bought 3x sets of them after taking a trip to Sheffield and seeing them in store. In store they felt sturdy (although the display ones were a bit chipped). I didn’t let it put me off as someone who has put together several sets of malm and brimnes range over the years the malm especially are prone to the same chips and also the malms supports often snap clean in half.
It’s taken me a little over an hour to put the frame together (5’1 woman) as I was taking my time, with just a standard screwdriver it is honestly much sturdier than the malm range.
Hopefully other 2 sets go as smoothly but we shall see.
So far so good from me. Think a lot of the negative reviews on here are just people jumping on the “we hate change” bandwagon.

Lovely drawersAnonymous reviewerBought these drawers and matching bedside drawers for my daughters bedroom. My 16 year old built them both all on her own. She took her time and followed the instructions images step by step and built them beautifully. They are well made and sturdy. I think they are better and improved quality over the old Malm ones. Locking drawers that only open one at a time is a great safety feature.
Poor replacementAnonymous reviewerAbsolutely disgusted by the quality of these drawers. Malm drawers lasted years and took 15 minutes to build. These drawers are awkward to build and definitely do not compare to malm. For the price its an absolute joke. Would definitely not purchase again.

Delighted with purchaseAnonymous reviewerI purchased 5 different chests of drawers from the Storklinta range recently and I’m so pleased I didn’t take notice of some of the previous reviews. I’m a middle aged lady who is not shy to a bit of DIY and I found the units so easy to put together instructions were very clear, even my non DIY Husband managed to put some together too. Very sturdy well made furniture and would not hesitate to recommend.

Absolute rubbishAnonymous reviewerWanted to buy the Malm but discontinued so got this instead. Not only does it look cheap the quality is rubbish as well. For something thats meant to be sturdier, well disappointed doesn’t cover it. The drawers are shallow and really don’t hold that much. There is also a mechanism that ensures only one drawer is open at a time, I have to say I found it really frustrating and annoying. Why on earth you got rid of the Malm range is beyond me. Will be looking elsewhere in future

I wanted a simple piece of furniture, so did not attempt to fit the pulley attachment to the back of the drawers. I only open one drawer at a time anyway.
From the reviews about the discontinued Malm furniture makes me think that this would have been more suitable for my requirements.

It splinters very easily & is almost impossible to turn over to attach the top.
I have built lots of Ikea furniture & it usually goes together well & is very sturdy.
Even though I had built this item I still returned it, Ikea tried to give me a credit for the full amount but I stood my ground & received a full refund.
