Product details
SÖDERHAMN seating series allows you to sit deeply, low and softly with the loose back cushions for extra support.
Light, airy design with high legs and slim lines, yet still a great comfort thanks to the elastic weave in the bottom and high resilience foam in the seat cushions.
The sofa's sections can be used freestanding or combined in different ways to get a size and shape that suits you and your home.
If you need a larger sofa, you can add a section or two to your existing combination.
You can create your own perfect combination with the planning tool. Assemble, take apart and put together again until it’s just right.
The high legs make it easy to clean the floor under the furniture.
This cover is made of Gransel, a fabric with elements of linen and viscose that add a slight lustre and the threads in different sizes create a natural, vibrant expression.
A loose fit and a long valance sheet down to the floor give your SÖDERHAMN a relaxed and inviting look.
The cover is easy to keep clean since it can be machine washed and is easy to take off and put on again.

Reviews
Design classic, and comfy!Anonymous reviewerIt says you need two people but as an IKEA lover, in a different life I’d put stuff together as a job, it was easy enough for just me. I fid need to add a wooden spoon into the construction tool kit, to lever on the soft fabric covers. The fit is snug.
Loving the generous size, soft tactile covers, cushions, aesthetic and can’t recommend it highly enough.
Only thing I was surprised by, although it didn’t affect me as I didn’t buy the ‘arms’ ends. You need to puncture the fabric covers to secure the ends. So it’s a permanent choice.
No regrets, well worth the investment and would happily take on a similar build - no missing bits, just the wooden spoon!! 5
Too wideAnonymous reviewerThe chair felt too wide for our new space. It probably needed more cushioning too. But, I loved the style and the fact it was modular. 4
Poor quality cushions, long term failsAnonymous reviewerHad our soderhamn for about 8 years. The back cushions collapsed after a few years use. For the last 3 or 4 years we have had to use alternative Ikea 60cm large cushions as back rests.
The seating cushions wear out as quickly and we had to re-stuff the most sat in seat with a piece of foam.
Ikea doesn't offer any replacement cushions.
We have stuck with it only because it was the perfect size and configuration for our small living room, allowing ample seating and even as a make do bed when company came to stay. Being modular it was also easy to carry up the stairs and get into our flat unlike the oversized sofas with massive arm rests offered by other sofa manufacturers :o)
It certainly hasn't lasted the 10 years the guarantee promises but we never kept the receipt after purchase, so our bad.
Such a shame as we would buy another one. It is great to stretch out on and squeeze all the family onto and I love the design.
It Just needs thicker/firmer/hardier and more generous cushions2
