Opens with a groan as the metal components crunch into place.
There's not enough plastic sticking out at the front of the bin so it tips forwards when you press the pedal. Sometimes it'll hit you in the shin for good measure.
Also, the base isn't weighted and there are no sticky feet so this will move every time you step on the pedal.
In summary: This bin is just terrible. If I'd picked it up for a fiver in a discount shop I'd be unsurprised, but I really expected something at least half decent from IKEA.

Bad DesignAnonymous reviewerThe bin would be ok if the pedal didn't keep falling out. I have tried bending the metal so that it stays inside but within a few days the pedal comes unattached on one side and wont work. I think this is down to the design of the pedal attachment to the bin. Will be replacing it when I get the chance.

However, the product photos suggest that the bag can be securely held in place and tucked out of sight, which hasn’t been my experience. I haven’t found a way to keep the bag both hidden and firmly secured, which is a bit disappointing.
