To save on our natural resources and make use of as much of the tree as possible, we’ve used sawmill leftovers and scrap wood in the particle boards for SMÅSTAD.

Wish they did a 20cm (height) drawer!Anonymous reviewerDrawers are fairly easy to put together (just make sure you go to the correct page in the instructions depending if you want to fit the drawer at the bottom or not!) but I really wish they did a size in between in terms of height. The 15cm drawers are ok for most things (we have 6 of them in our daughter’s double wardrobe set up), but could do we some slightly deeper drawers. The 30cm drawers are way too deep for us (we have 2). I really wish we could have 3x 20cm drawers in that space!
Drawer alignment solution!Anonymous reviewerWe couldn’t make the drawers align because whichever drawer you want at the bottom needs to have the front coloured part fitted differently to the other higher drawers. The answer is on page 10 of the drawer construction manual. Basically you use the higher holes to attach the drawer front as it faces you so that the drawer front hangs lower over the base of the box it fits into and no plastic stoppers… everything then fits beautifully. Good luck!
Not fit for three drawersAnonymous reviewerTotal useless instruction, it's not showing the same set of product. You have to figure out the steps yourself. And the drawers didn't match the size the top drawing overlap with the middle one. Worst item I bought in ikea, don't buy this
Assembly that could cause a divorce Anonymous reviewerInstructions may aswel not be included they are that vague. After 3 days and taking it apart 3 times thinking the base wasn’t right for the track holes the bottom draw base just needed to be fitted to the first not second line on the drawer front :) I only knew that from these reviews otherwise I was about to bin the whole lot.
Complete and utter nightmare. Anonymous reviewerI needed a decent size chest of drawers 60 cms wide to fit into a recess so this looked ideal. But it has been unbelievably difficult to assemble. This is not helped by having multiple sets of instructions (instead of the usual single set you would expect per item) none of which provide any illustration of this specific product with three drawers, they only display other configurations of items within this range with more or different sized drawers and are not clear on which holes to use for each runner. Despite tirelessly following all such instructions to the letter I have a chest of drawers which is pretty much useless as the top drawers are out of sync and overlap each other so won’t run properly or shut. After two lengthy phone calls to customer services no one has been able to identify the problem and I am currently awaiting another set of spare parts. After countless hours I am completely exhausted with this. This is the worst item I have ever ordered!
It worksAnonymous reviewerIt took me a few hours to get this right - unfortunately the instructions come per drawer and you then have to piece it together but the instructions for that are something generic that doesn't match this exact drawer (i.e. the number of holes to count per drawer and the fact that the bottom drawer requires that the bottom sits lower). I ended up having to redo some of it.
Love it!Anonymous reviewerThis might be marketed as children’s furniture but my partner and I have them as bedside drawers and they are fantastic! So easy to put together (and take apart!!), and with gold legs and handles (purchased elsewhere) they look fab!
Just wish there was a wider tallboy/set of drawers that would be suitable to put the tv on 😩

What is constructed board?
We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
