Overly sensitive Anonymous reviewerOver sensitive and hard to sometimes switch on. Water on the glass also desensitises it3
Fantastic hobAnonymous reviewerWe bought this hob after my other smashed this is a brilliant hob with great features and once used to it very easy to understand perfect auto bits to it which really helps when your busy 5
Power LimitationAnonymous reviewerThis hob take ages to boil a bowl of water. I am not sure what Power was set when it is first connected to main. May I ask how can I reset the Power Limitation (PL) ? As I am no longer able pressing button +/- and Ok buttom to set a higher PL. anybody knows any reset button?3
Sleek new cooking surfaceAnonymous reviewerDiscreet and versatile modern appliance at a fantastic price. It is made by Schott Ceran, the same manufacturer as many more expensively branded hobs. There is no IKEA branding on the surface. I find the induction hob easy to control and it has not disappointed after many years of a gas hob. I love the ability to clean and polish the glass after cooking without having to take off all the crowns and pan supports as I had to with our previous conventional hob. We have it plugged in to a normal electrical outlet which restricts using all four hobs at full power. If you regularly use all hobs on full you will need a larger supply connected directly to your consumer unit.5
Terrible HobAnonymous reviewerWe have recently installed a complete ikea kitchen and for the rest of the kitchen and appliances, we are very happy (the ovens are amazing). This hob on the other hand is terrible. It takes forever to heat up and is very sensitive. It took forever to heat up a pan of water and it did not do a good job of keeping the water boiling. I double checked the set point for power and it is set to the max of 7.2kw.
We have had induction hobs for a while and this is by far the worst.1
DO NOT BUYAnonymous reviewerFrustrating hob to use on a daily basis. It can't tell a cloth or pan from a human hand. You cook with multiple pans you have to be very careful not to go near the controls with the pan bottoms, as it triggers the controls and you end up with rings on/off/up/down when you don't want them to. Can't give the unused surface a quick spills wipe whilst cooking as it throws a total fit. Randomly goes into some kind of lock mode, leaving the whole thing off mid-cooking. The gaps between the heat settings are ridiculous i.e., a sauce dropped to number 4 bubbles away quite aggressively whilst 3 does nothing at all. Just don't buy it. Horrible product to use. We've put up with it for 5 months but are running out of patience. Do not buy.1
I love this induction hob so easy to use Anonymous reviewerGreat product 5
Great product Anonymous reviewerGreat product, remember to set the power settings, as I didn't and it would not heat in two places at once, after doing this it has worked perfectly. 5
Do Not Buy This Hob!Anonymous reviewerWe had a complete new kitchen and all appliances bought and fitted through Ikea - Whilst we are more than happy with every other recommendation by the kitchen designer/agent in store-we absolutely hate this hob-it's like a battle of wills between us and it just to cook one meal.It constantly cuts out, bleeps and takes forever to heat (just 2 inches of already hot kettle water for a poached egg is at least 5 minutes waiting for it to boil). This has to be the worst induction hob on the market and we will be returning it to Ikea ( once we find another hob that will replace the size of the cut out in the worktop) and not the manufacturer as we bought it from Ikea NOT the manufacturer. This should be taken off their shelves.1
Works well, but could be betterAnonymous reviewerPros: It looks great, and you can definitely cook well with it. It's also surprisingly powerful. I can heat a carbon steel wok to very high heat for stir frying in less than a minute. It's nice that each burner has its own controls and you can jump from 9 to 1 just by tapping the left end of the slider, as opposed to tapping a minus button eight times.
Cons: Automatic modes and timers require pressing an unintuitive sequence of buttons to activate and deactivate; I usually have to consult the manual or just don't bother. The right side is noticeably hotter than the left. I find the heat levels 1-9 are not an even gradient — e.g. 6 feels a lot hotter than 5 — but you get used to this quickly. As another reviewer mentioned, if there's any food or liquid on the controls while it's off (which happens a lot), it goes into a safety mode where you can't turn it on for 10 seconds. 4
Not user-friendly at all. Anonymous reviewerHard to switch on, switches off automatically after 5 seconds if you remove the pan. When you cook, you need a hob to be flexible, this one is beeping left, right and center when a drop of water falls on the sensors...

Very poor quality productAnonymous reviewerWe bought our whole kitchen from Ikea including all the appliances. We were recommended this hob by the kitchen designer. I wish I had checked the other reviews before I bought it. It is awful, does not heat up, taking ten minutes to bring water from a boiled kettle to a boil, the functions do not work consistently, it is over complicated. We were really looking forward to cooking in our new kitchen and this has made the experience miserable. Now we are stuck trying to get it fixed or replaced with the manufacturer. I am very disappointed. Ikea should not be selling this as a product, let alone a premium product.1
Faulty productAnonymous reviewerThe second product in the kitchen order to fail. 1 ring does not work. Very disappointed with the service from IKEA.1
Frustrating to useAnonymous reviewerFrequently goes into safety mode where you cannot press any buttons for ~10 seconds. The buttons are generally not easy to use, especially if splashed by liquid from food.2
