Excellent Parasol - really pleasedAnonymous reviewerExcellent quality, well built parasol with replaceable shade, so hopefully it will last a few years with the odd refresh.
I am disappointed however with Ikea's weight solution which are the ugliest of sandbag bags, look terrible so opted for some granite slabs from another retailer, which worked a treat.
Also disappointed that Ikea do not supply or sell a cover for this parasol, so again, sort an alternative from an online retailer.
Usually, Ikea have thought of everything - but not this time.5
Brilliant parasol sun shadeAnonymous reviewerWe have had this parasol in cream for approximately 7 years, we absolutely love it, it’s a perfect size for us we can angle it over our table or turn around to shade the grandchildren in the paddling pool, we originally bought it with the stand but decided to sink it into the lawn weighted down with 4 heavy paving stones, we got a large cover online and leave it out all year, looking to perhaps buy a new cover for next year5
Excellent Quality, unfortunately too bigAnonymous reviewerA fab Parasol but unfortunately returned as it had to be so far away from garden Sofas due to its size. IKEA refunded with no problem excellent service.5
No Cover!Anonymous reviewerGreat little parasol. Easy to use and huge. Easily tiltable etc. BUT see other reviews for poor life of stand. Instructions say must use cover BUT NO SUITABLE COVER ON IKEA WEBSITE!!3
Ikea don't sell a cover to protect this, so it won't last long.Anonymous reviewerWhen I bought this a Tostero cover was recommended but that didn't fit, and the seglaro is so tall I had to stand on a chair just to attempt to fit a cover.
Our Seglaro (which is too tall to bring inside) now looks very shabby having spent the winter in the garden without a cover (lying on it's side in case of high winds). I was unable to dismantle it last Autumn (not that that reduces the longest section by much) as it keeps jamming as you try to slide it off the short pole that goes up the inside. (I 'think' the short pole has bent, but how it does that 'inside' the main pole I've no idea and can't get it apart to check. The main piece moves up by about 15-20 cm then 'sticks'.
The metal cross base has also rusted badly and the powder coating is flaking off in huge chunks.
All in, the Seglaro has been one of my most disappointing purchases from Ikea, and not a cheap one.1
BELTERAnonymous reviewerForget the rest and buy this parasol. I must have researched 20 brands and this by far is the best. The umbrella will move naturally to protect it’s structure but it’s the sturdiest Parasol I’ve ever had. The rotation on the base lets me move it as the sun moves. Absolutely love the crank and how easy it is to angle with the handle. It was so easy to construct and took 10 minutes.
The only feedback that’s not great is the base you provide is 1: Overpriced & 2: not as good as the Outsunny brand. They provide a base with built in slats underneath the plastic which supports the weight of the Cantilever and weatherproofs the frame as it’s fully covered. Ikea should do their version of this along that £50 price point. Fantastic product would buy again. 5
Very large; great qualityAnonymous reviewerThe quality of this parasol seem great. The frame seems of very high quality as a great finish.
Unfortunately for us though, it is huge, especially the base, and very heavy. Yes, the dimensions are all there in the description, but it is sometimes difficult to appreciate how much space an item will take up.
We had to return as it was too large for our decking, but if you have the space it’s excellent value. 4
Garden SunshadeAnonymous reviewerThis was bought as a replacement . Pleased with the item and it’s good to know you can get replacement covers .5
