Reviews

a little noisyAnonymous reviewerIt's a little but are not they all they all it gives a good light and dose it's job very well4
Good but a bit flimsyAnonymous reviewerIt's cheap, so you get what you pay for. Does everything it's supposed to and you do need to buy additional parts depending on your set up, so make sure you utilise the very helpful kitchen advisers in store. However, within a year of use the plastic dial for increasing or decreasing fan power broke. In store customer service staff were very unhelpful. Whilst the product comes with a 5 year guarantee, IKEA only provide support for a year. Whilst the product has only been in use for much less than a year it was stored for a while before it was able to be installed. So no help form IKEA. Literally, its's not covered by us any more so were not going to help you even figure out how to get a replacement. Next time I'd spend a bit more money.3
Cooker HoodAnonymous reviewerWorks perfectly in every way ,taking away unwanted smells, and steam, the added light is perfect.5
Good product overall.Anonymous reviewerOnly downside is the top part of the chimney doesn't sit snugly against the inner part.4
No spare partsAnonymous reviewerThis unit assumes that the ceiling height for all kitchens is less than 8 feet tall, the chimney covers for the hood were not long enough for our needs. I spoke to Ikea to find an extension or extra chimney cover who spent some time trying to find the manufacture of the product which is now apparently discountinued. The company I was told to go to for spare parts was called ‘Saber’ which doesn’t even exist. I ended up buying another complete extractor hood from IKEA to get the part I needed, the hood arrived damaged.1

Quality

Sensitive to noise or have an open-plan home?

For extractor hoods, a noise level below 60 dB is considered low – roughly equivalent to a normal conversation between two people. We measure the noise level of our hoods at max speed, making it easier to compare different models. Note that sound levels decrease at lower speeds, and recirculating hoods are typically louder than those vented outdoors. Noise may also increase if the ducting is long or has several bends, as the air has to work harder to pass through the system.

Function solution

Sound levels

Sound levels for appliances are measured in decibels (dBs). Our extractor hoods have been tested in speed 3 to determine the dB level. The sound level of your extractor hood is affected by: • Type of installation. Exhaust-mode or recirculation-mode. • Length and diameter of the exhaust pipe between extractor and exhaust vent. The longer it is and the smaller the diameter, the louder it gets. • 90° bends. The more bends you have in the exhaust pipe, the greater the sound.
