Great Idea - Good Quality - Easy to UseAnonymous reviewerI purchased two of them in blonde and two of them in brown for our furniture. These trays are like slatted pieces of wood that bend and can be placed on the armrests of the KIVIK sofa. I use two of them there. One of them is on the KIVIK footstool and one is on my OSKARSHAMN footstool. This allows us to keep drinks from spilling on the furniture and creating stains. Because there are slatted, spills will leak through these trays - but small drips aren't a worry. They do keep the drinks level and stable when on the armrests of the sofa and footstools. A quick wipe with a towel keeps them clean. Good price and ready to use with no assembly.

Ok it's not fool proof and won't protect it from half a pint but a few drips no problem... it does bend around different angles, is treated with some kind of laquer to prevent the wood soaking up liquid and is backed with fabric so no bits go through.
Probably also make a good decorative panel if stuck onto something.
Slight sheen to the bamboo.
Would like a dark coloured alternative.

What is bamboo?
Strong, flexible and one of the world's fastest growing plants – bamboo has many uses that make it an excellent renewable material. It’s a type of grass and usually grows without the need for fertilizers or irrigation. After being harvested, it grows new shoots that are ready for harvesting after 4-6 years. At IKEA we use bamboo for items like furniture, bathroom decor, baskets and lamps – and we are constantly exploring more areas of use for this versatile material.
