The worktop is made in bamboo which is an easy-care and hard-wearing natural material.

Bamboo is a durable and stable hardwood with a uniform texture. It is moisture and scratch-resistant. The natural color of bamboo is similar to that of beech wood.

The hooks on the side of the workbench are perfect for hanging for example kitchen utensils or tea towels.

It was let down by the final steps involving height adjustnent and putting the feet on. It proved impossible to do, the table is too heavy to easily maneuver at this ponint. The nut and plastic footing do no separate to allow the permanent metal feet to slot on. I gave up and had the table rest on the plastic feet. Shame, so close to perfection.4

RIMFORSA work benchAnonymous reviewerWe wanted a kitchen island/work space for our new-build home and spent some time looking at various options from a wide range of manufacturers, stores and even second-hand and antique shops. We have a large(ish) kitchen-diner and wanted whatever we chose to be a focal point as well as functional - well the RIMFORSA does not disappoint! It took two of us approx 90 mins to assemble with the instructions being relatively easy to follow and understand. It's a sturdy piece of furniture and in our opinion it is an excellent addition to our kitchen as well as being good value for money.5

Material

What is bamboo?

Strong, flexible and one of the world's fastest growing plants – bamboo has many uses that make it an excellent renewable material. It’s a type of grass and usually grows without the need for fertilizers or irrigation. After being harvested, it grows new shoots that are ready for harvesting after 4-6 years. At IKEA we use bamboo for items like furniture, bathroom decor, baskets and lamps – and we are constantly exploring more areas of use for this versatile material.
