Quite easy to assemble Anonymous reviewerI first looked at the pictures ie instructions, then watch video on line which was great and made it so much easier, I completed the whole task in about 1 hour, but when attaching headboard I call for my daughter to hold while I screwed in place. Love tho look of this furniture but been waiting long time for other items in this range all out of stock, if I know would be so long, I’d purchase similar elsewhere.
Really Nice looking BedAnonymous reviewerThis is a really stylish (for IKEA) bed, its also pretty solid and I think will be a good purchase overall. Ive only given it 4 stars however as there was an issue in process of putting it together. When joing the side panels to the end panels, fixing the metal 'cross' support 2 of the 4 just would not align with the pre-drilled holes. I resolved it by drilling additional holes about 5mm further along the end+head boards, not a big issue for me as im pretty ok with DIY but not sure if everyone would be?
Looks great and good qualityAnonymous reviewerEasy enough to build, looks fantastic and brings a mid-century modern vibe to the space. Love it!
Stylish bed frame, but cannot recommendAnonymous reviewerthe bed frame itself is very stylish and modern, and is quite sturdy, showing how it isn’t exactly style over substance, but i cannot recommend due to the build quality.
i unboxed the bed frame, and had began to put the frame together. when i got to screw in the metal supporting brackets that screw in between the front and back panels and the side panels i found that the holes in the side panels were both misaligned. while it wasn’t a big problem for me, as i was able to carefully drill new holes in place, it was very disappointing that a piece of ikea furniture, normally to such a high standard, had holes that had been drilled almost a whole separate hole’s diameter out of alignment.
therefore, while it is a stylish and sturdy bed, i cannot recommend due to the fact that the build quality just is not to the “IKEA” standard
Needs a lot of strengthAnonymous reviewerReally difficult to attach the side and back pieces together. The wooden dowels are very tight and I had to use a block and hammer to bash the pieces together until they were about 1cm apart. The cam locks are more like giant bolts. You have to get the panels close enough for the cams to bite, then screw them multiple times evenly on each side to close the gap. This requires a lot of strength because of the tight dowels. The angles are awkward because the instructions ask you to attach the legs first. I found it easier to remove the legs and construct the frame flat on the floor first. The headboard is also very heavy and needs another person to support it while attaching. Otherwise it might be best to attach the headboard to the legs first, then attach the legs to the frame. Overall very difficult for a single person with limited strength to construct. While the bed currently looks good, the paper veneer scratches easily too.
great bedframe - couple of incomplete partsAnonymous reviewerThe bedframe is great - it's nice and solid and looks great and is very comfortable however one of the screwholes on the frame was in the wrong place and another piece was missing the holes at the end entirely. luckily i'm good at diy and woodwork so was able to drill new holes in the right places but could see this being a problem for someone less skilled with them having to exchange parts
Looks fantastic! A little tricky to put together, even for Ikea...Anonymous reviewerLove the look of this bedframe; super stylish and sleek!
It's pretty quick to put together, with not too many parts. It also feels pretty sturdy and well made once put together.
One note is that the 'curved' design of the headboard means that it doesn't stand up on it's own like you get with the likes of Malm or Songesand, meaning that when you're trying to attach the side pieces, you have the fun of balancing the headboard whilst also trying to slide in the sides.
Also Ikea seems to have changed the design of the large camlocks for this frame, making them really stiff and tricky to use. Even for a seasoned Ikea-builder, these took a good few attempts. I don't know that someone with reduced mobility or strength would manage this part.
Besides this, the frame looks lovely and works a treat, with good space underneath!
