Cons: it doesn't tick, but when the seconds arm is going over certain numbers the clock makes a scratching noise like an insect, arguably more annoying than a ticking clock! It is quiet but I live by myself and can hear it. Have tried it in differnet rooms on different walls and unfortunately I can't put up with it anywhere.
