Terrible Product would rate 0Anonymous reviewerPurchased this item and as stated comes in 3 packs however 1 pack consisting of the larger drawers came only half full. Both sides, drawer runners, front of drawers, screws and dahls were all missing. 2 trips back to the store to get the missing parts later, and the item is of such poor quality the wood is flimsy and not stable enough for any item of weight to sit on top and terribly allinged so drawers do not sit flush together. Would not be buying flat pack items from IKEA again which is a shame as the Kallax went together like a dream.1

Tricky to assembleAnonymous reviewerI had to wait for part 2 to redeliver as the box was crumpled on side and it had crushed the corners. The packaging was not strong on corners. In subsequently found similar damage on another of the boxes but I needed to get the drawers made so carried on. The instructions didn't quite marry up some of the sides had extra drill holes?! It was very complicated to set up My Dad had to do it for me and it took us about 3 afternoons in all as it was such a headache we had to take a break. It would be better if there was a video to also watch. The end result is good and I’m pleased with it but if I’d know how tricky to make I’m not sure I would have bought.4

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
