For use at table height: Fix the table to the wall so that the top edge of the table top reaches a height of ca. 74 cm.

For use at bar table height: Fix the table to the wall so that the top edge of the table top reaches a height of ca. 95 or 106 cm, depending on seat height of bar chair.

Different wall materials require different types of fixing devices. Use fixing devices suitable for the walls in your home, sold separately.

Fab Little TableAnonymous reviewerWe bought this for my daughters small space and it fits just right. Easy enough to put together but a bit fiddly when assembled to screw into the wall. Quite awkward in a small space two of you working. One under desk screwing it to the wall as well as marking for the upright and one just stood holding the table leaf up! Does not come with wall fixings which was a bit annoying as we didn't discover this until we'd made a start so had to break off and nip out to get screws and wall plugs. Product itself a five star but I'm dropping one for IKEA not stating on the pack no wall fixings. Wouldn't take much to pop that on the package or at the start of the instructions.4

Too heavy for a stud wallAnonymous reviewerDesk does the job, compact enough when folded away and can be used as a shelf. I needed to fix a batten across three studs to take the weight as it is quite heavy, and then fix the shelf element of the desk to that. In that sense installation was a bit trickier and took a lot longer than it would have had i been fixing it to a brick wall.3

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.

Function solution

From drop-leaf table to shelf

Because the table top on NORBERG is in two pieces, you get a small shelf against the wall when you fold down the table. This way, you can keep things like salt and pepper shakers or candle sticks on the table, even when it's folded down. Attractive and practical!
