It’s a shape that’s used throughout the series, from chairs to tables. “The frame gives NÄMMARÖ a uniform and contemporary look. It’s also modular thinking that simplifies the production and lowers the cost. And since NÄMMARÖ doesn’t have any curved shapes, the products are easy to pack in flat packages.” It contributes to a lower price and saves valuable space during transport – all the way from the factory to the customer’s home.

Care
The best way to extend the life of your wooden outdoor furniture is by cleaning it regularly and not leaving it outdoors unprotected more than necessary.
Clean: With a mild soapy solution. Wipe dry with a clean and dry cloth.
Maintenance: To prevent the surface from drying out and cracking and moisture from penetrating into the wood we recommend you to re-stain the furniture on a regular basis, for example once or twice a year.
Storing: If possible, store in a cool dry place indoors. If the furniture is stored outside, cover it with a waterproof cover. After a rain or snowfall, wipe off excess water or snow from flat surfaces. Allow air to circulate to avoid condensation.
To increase the stability of your furniture, re-tighten the screws at least once per season.

Not the best qualityAnonymous reviewerIn principle the item is well designed except the wood material is questionable. Hand tightening the bolts in place and finishing with the supplied spanner caused the wood and the leg to split yet the bolts were not tightened sufficiently. Ikea acted promptly and replaced he item. The wood fibres on the legs of the new item appear to be more solid although I’m nervous to tighten properly. We’ll see how it performs over the summer.

Beautiful but with design flawAnonymous reviewerIt’s a beautiful sun bed and if I only wanted it for sun bathing I’d keep it. However I like to read or use a tablet on it which isn’t possible as it only tilts 45 degrees! I ended up with a very sore neck and even tried with a pillow before giving up and returning it. Such a shame as it really is lovely but no use to me. Don’t do what I did and forget to check reviews……I’ve never had a sun bed that didn’t tilt up for reading so was floored that this one doesn’t.

The only thing you should not forget when buying this chair , is to buy a cushion for the court small to have under your head to make it more comfortable to read . assemble, but I ended up selling it on really quickly as I was unable to sit sufficiently upright on it to relax with a drink or read - it needs an extra ‘notch’ to raise the back rest up a bit more. Even with various cushions and back supports it was only comfortable for reclining or laying down. Would be such an easy design fix to make it perfect!
Good value and long lasting Anonymous reviewerI’ve had mine for nearly ten years now and they’ve lasted really well. They’re left out all year and I cover them with the waterproof cover. I bought cushions from another retailer specialising in hotel furniture so that they were thicker and hard wearing. They’re great for extra bench seating when laid flat with a coffee table between them and they are great for sunbathing when used as a lounger. My only negative is the recline doesn’t come up high enough so you can’t comfortably read a book while sat on the lounger. You’re not propped up high enough. In terms of maintenance it’s advisable to sand them down and re varnish every now and then to ensure the wood is able to withstand the uv rays and rain. They are very good value and I’d buy them again, but hopefully once the back raises up higher please IKEA.

A really nice sunbed :)Anonymous reviewerI was first sceptical about assembly after reading bad reviews but it came together very easily. The sunbed is really well made and took no more than 15 minutes to assemble on my own. Unless you are a very tall or large human, it should be perfectly comfortable (we are 5'8 and 6'1).
Also tried both FRÖSÖN/DUVHOLMEN and KUDDARNA cushions instore and decided to go with KUDDARNA as these are fluffier.

Especially when the holes don't seem to match up on the end without the wheels. Worth the time, but prepare to be frustrated putting it together!
