Product details

This sensor keeps track of your windows and doors – helping you make life at home smoother, more comfortable and safer.

When connected to a hub, the sensor sends a notification to your smartphone with information if a door or a window is opened.

You can combine the sensor with a smart lightbulb that turns on when you open a door and turns off when you close it – ideal for a walk-in closet.

Easy to place in different areas of the home since the parts can be mounted perpendicular to each other, opposite each other or side by side.

Powered by one rechargeable LADDA AAA battery that can be easily replaced, sold separately.

This smart product uses the universal standard Matter, making it easy to install, operate and add to DIRIGERA hub and to other well-known systems.

Good to know

Built on the open standard Matter and is compatible with smart systems from, for example, Amazon, Apple, Google, Homey and Samsung.

This product uses Matter over Thread, which means that you need a Thread Border Router to control it through your phone, for example our DIRIGERA hub.

Failure to installAnonymous reviewerI've purchased 18 off these sensors and 4 have failed to connect/setup.3
Easy to pair, but more stable through DIRIGERAAnonymous reviewerPairing was very easy. When I added it directly to Apple Home via Matter, it set up quickly but went offline after half a day and became unreliable. Pairing it through the IKEA DIRIGERA hub has been stable with no dropouts. Hopefully a firmware update can improve direct Apple Home pairing.2
Solid sensors, used on freezer and shed!Anonymous reviewerI’ve been using these MYGGBETT sensors for a bit and they’re spot on. I’ve got one on the freezer to make sure it’s not left open, and another on my shed door for security since there’s no power out there. They’re a bit chunkier than the old ones, but they use standard AAA batteries so you can just use rechargeables. The bracket it comes with is clever too—you stick it to the door and the sensor just clips on, so you don't have to rip the tape off every time you change the battery. It’s on Matter-over-Thread and has been totally reliable with instant alerts in Home Assistant. Proper bargain for the peace of mind.5
I got there in the endAnonymous reviewerI bought two of these. One connected to Apple HomeKit (and then Home Assistant) very quickly. The other didn’t want to play. I tried it again the following day and it was successful then. However, it wasn’t properly reporting the opening and closing of the door for the first 24 hours. After that, it seemed to settle down and now works perfectly. So, both up and running well. I’ll probably get two more. 4
Just works!Anonymous reviewerMuch easier than I thought to set up given I've had some trouble with the motion sensors but works straight away once connected with my home assistant and is great!5
Worth it in the end.Anonymous reviewerI had issues setting this up with the Dirigera hub. The sensor would connect but wouldn't talk to the hub, it registered it's opening and closing sequence but after opening and closing a few times it would stop registering. I had this set up with a Tradfri light bulb at my entrance so when I open the door at night, the light comes on and goes off after a 2 minute timer. So you can imagine how annoying it was. After a day it decided to play ball, whether the Dirigera had an update I'm unsure, I certainly didn't find one in Home Assistant as I add all of my devices there for more complex automation. TL:dr good device when it settles on the network. Going to buy more. Remember these are Matter devices now, not ZigBee.5
Seldom worksAnonymous reviewerI have this connected through HomeKit with the ikea hub. Unfortunately these seldom work. When they do it’s great, but often times I get nothing from them. HomeKit will show the door as closed when I have it open. I even watch the orange light flash as I open the door so I know something is happening. Once this is fixed it’ll be a lot better but can’t recommend until then2
Very neat and inconspicuousAnonymous reviewerThese sensors connect to Apple Home very easily. You get the option of it responding upon opening and another event when it closes. Using just one AAA battery makes it very compact and if the battery life is anywhere near as long as claimed, I’ll be delighted. All of these Ikea Matter devices show the battery percentage in the Home app, making it easy to check the battery status. This item is only suited for indoor use. I would very much welcome an alternative weatherproof version which could be used on things like garden gates. The Thread technology offers a much greater range than I expected. I have quite a long garden, but taking the sensor outdoors, it still operated a lamp from the end of my garden, so it should work well inside most houses and a weather resistant version should work well in average gardens too.5
