Shame about the label. Anonymous reviewerThis bin represents good value for money.
It is functionally sound except for the fact that the bin bag itself is difficult to hide under the rim.
The product label was very difficult to remove. I am reluctant to use harsh chemicals like acetone on paintwork for obvious reasons. If it hadn’t been slapped right on the front it wouldn’t have mattered.
I would have thought that companies to size of IKEA would have sorted out issues like this years ago. 4
Arrived damaged...twiceAnonymous reviewerOrdered online. The item arrived poorly packaged, thin cardboard used, taped up carelessly and with no effort taken to pack items with any care.
I called IKEA to let them know. They sent another bin, however exact same issue. Item arrived bashed up. I now have two bashed up bins which I'll need to drive to a store to select a replacement.
Don't bother ordering online. 1
Bought at reduced priceAnonymous reviewerNice looking bin with soft close lid, pullout basket makes emptying easier.5
DANGEROUS/ NOT FOR HOME WITH BABIESAnonymous reviewerWe were satisfied with this bin for 2 years. Even though the pedal doesn't work well anymore the bin was still ok. However, once our child touched the bottom of the pedal and cut his fingers. The metal of the pedal at the bottom is indeed very sharp, like a freshly opened can. It's not safe to have around children that crawl2
Simple design elegant finishAnonymous reviewerVery clean design, nice slow close feature. Fits in small kitchen well.5
Good sizeAnonymous reviewerIt’s a bin! I’d be more impressed if someone had answered my email complaint last June 2023 about the restaurant ( paper plates and staff)5
Good value for money,Anonymous reviewerGood value for money,5
BinAnonymous reviewerOverpriced for what it is. Same one in other shops is cheaper.3
FrustratingAnonymous reviewerI've not contacted IKEA over my issue as I was able to resolve it to my satisfaction. But sadly, after only a few uses (i.e., less than about a dozen presses of the pedal) the plastic hinge mechanism failed. My feeling is that it's a result of poor design/engineering, which when the product comes from IKEA and costs £50 is the frustrating part. Upshot is that I've repaired it using two cable ties. It isn't pretty, but it's functional and stops the whole thing going to landfill. Shame I can't upload photos to help others....
Reasons for star ratings:
How do you rate the value for money? Maybe I've a distorted view, but £50 for a bin seems expensive given what it constitutes and where it was manuf'd.
How do you rate the product quality? The rest looks fit for purpose, just the hinge assembly was poorly designed.
How do you rate the product appearance? Subjective but I think it looks fine.
Rate whether the product works as you expected: When it works, it works as expected.3
Non slip became a nuisanceAnonymous reviewerLoved the bin for the first few weeks.
After that, the non-slip rubber around the base would not keep the bin still when I press the pedal. Instead, it kept rolling off and I had to keep getting on the floor to put it back on.
Now, the seal is completely misshapen from being folded under the bin too many times and I can’t use the bin without it sliding across the floor.
I would have taken it back but the Edmonton IKEA is now closed and I live far from all the others.
£50 to not get proper use from it was disappointing2
The waste bin is betterAnonymous reviewerThe waste bin is better than anticipated, the slow close feature is useful and we are very happy overall!4
Peddle binAnonymous reviewerGreat product great price so happy with purchase goes great with decor in my kitchen5
Mjosa pedal binAnonymous reviewerLooks nice, sturdy, lids closes slowly and nicely. Was looking for a small kitchen bin and other ones I saw were quite flimsy and cheap looking and would be easily dented - even the more expensive ones. So was delighted when I found this one.5
Good size, nice appearance.Anonymous reviewerGood product at a reasonable price.4
Good purchaseAnonymous reviewerI’m going to get the bigger one
I love it5
ACAnonymous reviewerThere is a weird smell in the bin but other than that it is good.4
Value for moneyAnonymous reviewerWe saw similar bins for £80+ elsewhere5
Great Bin!Anonymous reviewerAmazing price, hands free, good quality!5
A bit pricey for the sizeAnonymous reviewerWe needed a new smaller waste bin for the kitchen so this suited. It’s slightly overpriced for the size I thought, and the lid closing mechanism is a bit slow. Otherwise no problems with it.4
Lush binAnonymous reviewerLoved this bin dark grey and satin silver top very attractive.
The only thing is the inner bin handle which is rather tricky to put a black bag and getting it perfect.
But still love it.5
