Nice bedAnonymous reviewerThis bed is nice, has a solid build, and is mainly made from plastic. Lots of space, it took me 3 hours to build and that's with a power screwdriver. The only downside for me is it's a big single bed, the panels on the edges make this 10cm bigger in width and length than a normal single bed, so it takes up more room than my last one. and the side panels stick out so you hit your legs off them. But other than that, it's a Good solid bed. Also in the instructions there is some scews that have the wrong picture but they are there and you need a screw driver to build as it don't come with one in the box which is odd.

Check the size of your mattressAnonymous reviewerCheck the size of your standard single bed mattress. The frame of the bed is larger than a single UK sized mattress resulting in your legs catching the edge of the frame in a morning whilst half a sleep.
Otherwise great idea for storage that is out of sight.
Very heavy so build it where it will be placed as once complete you will not be moving it very easily as it will have sunk into the carpet and underlay.

The bed has height and lifts to hide his storage of shoes, bed linen and number of basketballs. This bed allows with its storage underneath to have space in his room. I like it, my son loves it.

Could do with 2 people to put together but my 73 yr old husband put 2 of these together on his own. There is mountains of space underneath them. FYI. Don't think they are broken or stiff when trying to open the ottoman when built, the mechanism doesn't work until the mattress is on, it is then really smooth. Well done Ikea

Material
What is constructed board?
We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
